Man City have two high ranking technical advisors from Barcelona, Txiki Begiristain and some other fellow, they are said to favour Pellegrini. I doubt Mourinho is wanted by City.

As for the title if Arsenal, and that's a big IF, do invest some money on decent players they could exploit the changes in the top-4 and challenge for the title, I doubt Wenger will spend though. If Chelsea get a good striker like Cavani or Falcao they should be the favourites for the league no matter who their coach is.

Oh yeah

I had a fukin Ace Time at Wembley with the Yeovil boys .

What a result . With a wage bill under 1mil for the whole club to make it in 2 the Championship is a Huge Achievement .

Much bigger than winning the Europa League with an unlimited Budget;)

I have some photo's as well , i'll get hold of em at the Weeekend .

Gary Johnson is a Legend

Mou seems to have united the whole of Spain into hating his guts, Marca is notoriously pro-Real, quite an harsh article

He won the league last year with record goals, record points, record goal difference.
More important he stamped the blueprint on how to beat Barca, when he beat them HOME AND AWAY.

Who else did that? Every other manage in Europe has been trying that for nearly a decade now.

Its the same blueprint that Bayern used this year with tall muscular midfielders, much like Mou did with guys like Makalele,Ballack,Lampard

I doubt he gives a toss about Spain, he is too good for Real, a club that panders to the braindead masses and presidental elections and player power.

The same team that decided to sell Robben, Sneidjer, Makalele etc in their prime just so the presidents can win elections. 3 players who all went on to win with thier new clubs.
Tell you what.. Lets revisit this thread in 2 years and see if the next coach is still manager, im willing to bet that the next lamb to the slaughter ie Anceloti will be fired within 2 years.

Mourinho lasted 3 years. says it all.
Marca is a terrible mouthpiece for real really.

For the most part they loved him check this awesome clip, LOVE the bow down at 2.50 mark

Yeah he's not liked at all in Spain. Even the BBC Spanish journalist ripped into him on Radio 5 this morning. Sums it up pretty well.

European football expert Graham Hunter was a guest on 5 live this morning and says of Jose Mourinho: "Last season he set a goals record, he set a points record, he won the league in daring fashion, he began to behave himself and he was the polar opposite to the petulant, snarling, crying, wailing besmirching brat that he has been over the last month."

More from European football expert Graham Hunter, a guest on 5 live Breakfast this morning, who says of Jose Mourinho's departure from Real Madrid at the end of the season: "It's an exit strategy and everybody who is smart goes in to a situation with an exit strategy, and because the situation he is in right now was a renewal of contract less than a year ago, until 2016.

"So for him to be allowed to go and be dismissed in this way is remarkable. He had to manufacture that by besmirching Casillas, Pepe, Ronaldo, by refusing to go up to take his losers medal in the cup final on Friday from the King, the first manager in Real Madrid's entire history not to do so. The list is endless in the ways in which he has portrayed himself and made himself seem more arrogant and far less special."

Oh yeah . TBH i thought until we beat them , Benfica were going to win the title but i kept the faith .

I wonder who will be sold this summer ?

Real Madrid is a graveyard for coaches, this has been the case for several years, the standards they have are insanely high. I hope Ancelotti doesn't go there, he's my favourite coach I think he has better chances on winning the CL by staying in Paris, they only went out on goal difference to Barca and have the willingness to invest.

Gibraltar has been accepted as a full member membership of Uefa, European football's governing body.

Their application was approved on a majority vote at the organisation's congress in London, with no votes against and no abstentions.

The British Overseas Territory off the south coast of Spain has a population of just under 30,000.

Gibraltar will be allowed to enter qualifying for the 2016 European Championship.

Thoughts? Seems a bit pointless to me. It's bad enough with the likes of San Marino, Faroes, Luxembourg etc. Also think of all those other European territories. What makes Gibralter different than any other place? It's a small city of 30,000! Seems very strange indeed. The likes of the Channel Islands, Vatican City, Corsica and Kosovo spring to mind. What does this say for Catalonia and the Basque country in Spain? Bavaria in Germany? Sure there are plenty more that I can't think of right now. Seems like a can of worms may have been opened with this...

Anyway it's about time there was a pre-qualifying section for these times.

Are yu going to the match ?

I did , and I feel like I was lucky
Probably the best match I have ever been to, the quality of the play was superb. light years ahead of anything you get in the premiership.

Both goalies were amazing, Germany have a conveyer belt of goalies now, when you consider guys like Adler and Ter Stegan are waiting in the wings.

Been watching football for eons and I can now safely say there are TWO players that have the most brilliant movement off the ball.

The first one I saw was Hernan Crespo

The 2nd one is Thomas Muller.
That guy is some fucking player, you only see how good he is when you see him live. the way he runs into space is insanely good
People talk about xavi.iniesta.mata etc etc

Tell you what, give me Thomas Muller anyday over any of them, he was beyond superb last night.

Monaco blew everyone away with that Rademel Falcao bid. Didnt see that one coming.
£51 million !!
£160,000 a week tax free aint too shabby though.

Medical to take place later today.

Chalobah looks like a great prospect , hopefully he gets a chance next year.
Jose is at the game today to have a look at him.
Looks like we are about to buy Marco Van Ginkel as well, one of the rising talents in Dutch football. Only 20 and already nearly 100 games in Holland as well as a call up for the National team.
Just won the Johan Cruyff trophy for best Talent of the Year in Holland in 2012-13
Been called the new Phillip Cocu, which is fine with me as Cocu was a classy player.

^^ This is not in any way confirmed is it? Falcao moving to AS I mean.

So many reports about it , I guess no smoke without fire.
One rumor is that he wants to go to Real, and Real have cut a deal allowing Monaco to essentially buy him and then sell him on at the same price next year to Real. With all these dodgy agents and the fact that Falcao is partly owned by a dreaded consortium nothing would surprise me.

Mourinho, Di Canio and Holloway all in the PL next season. Being a football journalist just got even easier (and more fun).

Terrible playoff system that leads to pretty dour games like today cos of the pressure.
We need to follow the Bundesliga playoff system where the 3rd bottom club in the first plays the 3rd club in the second division
Their thinking was explained perfectly.
"If the 3rd place club in the 2nd isnt good enough to beat 3rd Bottom in the 1st, then they are not good enough to survive in the top flight anyways"

This would avoid the inevitable rubbish we will see next year with Palace finishing bottom
They talk about a £140 million playoff game, the quality was awful , Zola could have laced up and been the best player on that pitch, even at his age.
