2011-2012 football thread

Not sure about that but if its true then he's just moved up a notch in my estimation. Although it didn't seem like it at the time it was the best thing to happen us for ages. And 50mil.. dancer! =D

Not a bad little player either, Yossi.

I reaklly rate Yossi , he was fantastic at West ham, only cost us about 1.5 from Racing Santander , alot of clubs were put off him cos of his slight build , but Pardew thought he would do well in the Prem .
I'm not sure that him going back to Liverpool would be that good 4 club or player.
Hes 31 know n i think his best his behind him , well he's not gonna get better.
Merieles is an excellent player with his best years ahead , i'm sure Pool fans would like 2 see him stay

I luv deadline day , haven't got Sky atm , its mad on SSN ! Still plenty of deals to be done.
Anyelse a tadd surprised on Hargreaves move 2 City ?

Just read that Lpool want Sturridge if they are gonna let Meriles go.
I think Sturridge is going to be a great player cracking left foot , better than his dad even;) Dean Sturridge anyone remember him?
I do Man u were in for him once after he had scored alot of goals for Derby.

Benayoun would be best off in Italy or (maybe) Spain these days. I agree, good player, sometimes great. Imagine him in Serie A.

^ I think City sign pretty much whoever, I honestly think Hargreaves is a good pick, even if not fit he will add a lot of experience in the changing room, anyway it's not like they have budget problems, if he still has a few good games in him, it could end up a good move.

Anyway they are challenging for both PL and CL this year, so Mancini probably wants to add depth in the squad, in case of injuries, lack of form, red cards, etc.

I don't like him too much as a manager, but he's very cautious.

agreed . Its starting i'm listening to Talkshite atm . Spurs have got Parker from us i was hoping that we would get one of their players as part of the deal Bentley was mooted .

When fit Bellamy is fukin brilliant i've seen him tear teams apart ,live.
He gets dogs abuse from fans as well n rises above it i like him.
dunno if the Bindippers is the best place 4 him though

He is average at best. He does have his moments though and when he's on form he can be lethal but that happens how often? One every 20 games? He's not Champions League quality by a fuckin longshot. He'll warm the bench and play in the cups thats it.

Meireles gone to Chelsea. Don't like it.

and Yossi is gone to arsenal, badly needed there n all. Mertesacker will be exactly what they needed, a leader. He's a great defender too.

He's just mi s understood :|^^

Lansbury did well for u21 last looking forward to seeing him n the Claret n Blue.
A good t/w for the Irons we only lost Parker n that was inevitable , Getting Bentley was a bonus just hope BIg Sam can work his magic with him n turn him in 2 the player that he has the potential to be.

also scored a great hat trick against Man Utd hes defo got the talent , just if he decides to use it?
I don't think Big Sam will take any shit though so he best buck his ideas up if hes gonna be in the 1st team .

Almost forgot about Bentley. A textbook case of media hype doing harm. I think he's the kind of guy I'd want to knife, but yeah - potentially a very good player and still time to bring that out.

Wayne Bridge refused a loan to Celtic. Wanker.

Enjoy the bench, because you'll be seeing a lot of it whether you're in the 25 or not.

£90,000 a week i think Bridge is on , no way Celtic could pay that .
Shows what is important to him . Money not regular football n Celtic might not be as big draw as they once were but 60,000 fans aweek , you would think it would be a no brainer for a player thats unlikely to be playing in front of anyone bar himself.

Yea was just about to say, it was the money. It would be such a huge buzz for a player to play for Celtic but lets be honest its not somewhere you go if you want to forward your career.

I think City were willing to pay some or all of the cash though! Crazy.

Didn't hurt Henrik Larsson's career, did it? ;)

Anyone watching the match tonight? 3-0 I reckon might just stick a few quid on it, apparently they have only sold 15,000 tickets for the 45,000 stadium so I dont think were going to have such a bad time anyway off to the pub, guten nacht
