Anyone have any of their own mock drafts of the first round?

Ill post mine up in a bit....

Also, who are you looking for your team to pick?

My team's the New Orleans Saints at 14. Its their only pick in the first three rounds this year due to the Shockey and Vilma trades last year. So they really need to make this one count. This year's draft isnt as strong up front like some others in the past so I hope the Saints trade down for some extra picks and grab the best defensive player available. Our defense, especially secondary had been a huge weekness for us the last few years and we could always upgrade. we've been at trying real hard the last few years to bring in some decent FA but most of them have yet to pan out....Jason David was a bust....And other DB's have been alright...

If we arenty able to trade down....Most mock drafts have us picking either OSU DB Malcom Jenkins, USC LB Brian Cushing or OSU RB Chris Wells.

Jenkins had a crappy combine but is still considered to be the top DB int he draft due to his on field play.

Brian Cushing anchored USC's sick ass D last year and I think he's prob the safest pick of the 3.

Chris Wells is an interestring pick. He would be a perfect fit to pick up where Duece Mccalister left off but I think that our Defense is in much dire need...Still would be an instant boost to our short yardage run game which we really struggled at last year and it actually cost us 2 or 3 games last year....Tough call....

Chris Wells will be a phenom in the NFL if he stays healthy, which as a Buckeye fan I can tell you is not likely. But I hope the Bengals pick him up. Their #1 RB is a guy named Cedric Benson who was table scraps the Bears threw away.

I'm very happy to report that my team has the last pick which means we won the SB last year. The STEELERS need an offensive lineman but I can't see a good one being available when our time comes. I love the draft and love seeing the owners pay out all that money to untested talent and then they last only a few years.

My team is the cowboys with no 1st round pick unfortunately. Id like to see them trade up but its not likely unless they just find someone they cant let go. Who knows whats gonna be left when they get to pick at no. 51.

the official NFL draft thread!

Matt Stafford to the Lions!

Wait.....a pocket QB to a team who has never had a OL?

Well guess the Lions never learn. :\

hey, at least they are not picking up a Wide Receiver!

I changed the thread title to "the official NFL draft thread." hopefully that is ok with you, pullstring?

I think that Beanie Wells is going to be the first running back chosen, followed closely by Knowshown Moreno. my Ohio State Buckeyes should be well-represented, with most of their defensive picks being chosen in the first round.

I think that the Steelers will probably draft a defensive linemen (their D-line is still great, just old) or maybe a cornerback (they released a clutch CB in the offseason).

however, the Steelers will probably just do what they always do with such a low draft pick and draft the best possible option. hell, it hasn't hurt them yet. I would like them to pick up an offensive lineman because they haven't picked one up in the first round for over a decade, and their O line can be pretty weak.

I guess their O-line is no better than the one who won the SuperBowl. meh.

I still think we should concentrate on Defense but i wouldnt mind drafting a bruiser RB

as much of a fan I am of his QB play, it is hard to tell how Sanchez will pan out because he only played a year of college football.

just sayin :)

ah yes, but it was still pretty good year especially coming from a high spotlight team

(edit) which was actually whom I though had the lions took a second to think they would have gotten. But thats assuming the lions think.

i cant believe detroit gave that kind of contract to matt stafford. 50/50 shot that he is even in the leauge in 6 years let alone worth 72million dollars. big ups to his agent i guess.
