there are so many great people on the site from all around the world. i'd go to the meetup sober regardless of what stage my life was at because there are some awesome minds here & it would just be neat to meet people i've known for a decade without ever having seen before.

Except for the spliffer I'd pretty much force you to smoke with me. :D

cos i hope i will be too busy with my career, gardening, travelling and just generally being too busy to post on a drug harminimisation site :)

errr... i actually do all of that stuff and still post here.

*puzzled*

[mod hat]Anywho, let's not let this turn into a debate about why we post on bluelight, or what our fucking career or life aspirations are, or where we'll be in 10 years... unless it's at this bluelight meetup?[/mod hat]

This could be all kinds of fun, and any excuse to travel is a good one. I'd love to finally meet some of my foreign bluelight commrades. :D

zephyr, prague is in the czech republic which is in eastern europe. you can flush toilet paper, lol, but some people do use this gross wax paper type of TP that still baffles me.

I've never been to Prague but would love to go. Beautiful architecture, marijuana-infused vodka, absynth & the crystal and glass bottles are amazing. :D

Rusty, he is not going to pork her!

10 years sounds too metric for BL :p

Why not make it for the Rugby World Cup in France next November? We could introduce the Americans to a game that hasn't been diluted by over protective mum's wanting to bubble wrap their Good Ol' Sons.

Why limit it to one country/night? Have a meet up party in Amsterdam ( after all it would be easy for non-locals to score), then hook up with anyone who tickles your fancy and travel together in Camper vans through Europe. Just like the Griswald's except with alot more laptop handbags.

It would be the biggest travelling freak show since the Nazi's.

moving this thread to Aus social has really proven to be a step in the wrong direction.

Mmmhmm. I mean, the rugby world cup? Are you serious? lol

Netherlands! Amsterdam! Lets all go to a Sensation party, then recover in a coffee shop!

;)

Seriously though, EU is good. Aus is too far away, and half of us can just catch the feerry across from England any way.

Man, AmorRoark leaves bl for a week to Amsterdam and now *everyone* wants to go. ;) From what I saw though it seems like an excellent place for a bl meetup. It's relatively centrally located, there's already a number of excellent blers living there to coordinate, security would be a non-issue, and let us not forget the notoriety of sin city. :) I'm in 100%.

I'm well aware that value is bound to change in the next 3 years but all the same, I'll be damed to pay for a hotel with exchange rates as they are now. So, I call dips on crashing at mashies! :p

After thinking this over a bit I was reminded of a pretty serious drawback. Amsterdam is going to be very expensive for the majority of bluelighters to get to and stay in. It's expensive for both Americans and Australians. Expensive to the point where I'm guessing a lot of people wouldn't even be able to go if they started saving now. Especially considering the majority of economists predict that the gap between the euro and the dollar is just going to increase over the next half decade or so. I know this is kind of out of nowhere but It'd be a lot cheaper to go to Portigal. Their drug laws are lax as well and it's probably the cheapest country in Western Europe. Just a couple of things to think over...

Yeah, I'd agree that accommodation is comparatively pricey in Amsterdam, but getting there should be no more expensive than getting to Portugal. Inter-European flights are dirt-cheap, to be honest.

What we need... is a rich BL'er who owns a warehouse in Amsterdam. :D

Anyone?
