WOOHOO! thats made me feel a whole lot better i forgot to ask 1 thing ~_~ i ate about 10-15 last time, i had a nice trip, didnt really have much open eye visuals but pixelated vision, my body felt 3 times as heavy and it felt like i'd smoked about 20 cones in a row or something. Should i eat less or more since they have dried a bit? i know it all comes down to random chance when they are fresh, but they are a lot dryer.

umm, rotten mushrooms are not good to eat, would you eat a rotten apple? No, because it may have mould on it which can make you sick. You should dry the mushrooms with desiccant as quickly as possible so they do not start to decompose.
i cut mine up freshly picked, mum cooked a stir fry, mixed em in after it was cooked and munged it...aswell as munging on a cap...:D i didnt find the taste that bad, the younger small ones especially. The bigger they are though the worse they taste i reckon
some clear pics of these weird subs i found.. anyone found these around suburban melbourne?? They are definatly subs. They bruise blue when i pick em..
I did find one that looks like that. It was gowing in grassy substrate where an old pine tree once stood. I think its because of what they are geting nutrients from. I ended up throwing it in the end due to a brownish tinge to the stem. However in restrospect it was a sub as I had eaten some from that patch in past years.
the ones in endlesseulogy's post are p.subs, but there is more than one yellow mushroom species, so make sure you read the whole thread before you start to pick any.
Dj ScAtTeRfAcE: I suggest you leave them in a paper bag in the fridge or outside out of any sunlight/rain. If they were in good condition when you picked them they can last upto a week in the fridge. Keeping them fresh in an airtight container/plastic bag will accelarate the decaying process.
I've also got a ? when you've dried a batch do you leave them whole or turn them into powder? I'm going to purchase an airtight glass container to keep whole ones in but until its full there's alot of oxygen in there not helping preserve them at all. Would puting them in a ziplock bag first then into a glass container be beneficial long term? I'm trying to find a method that preserves potency well..
I just leave my dried one's whole in a zip-lock bag.
When i consume them i chop them up and add them to a drink or something.
Once they are dry, they're fine how they are and potency issues shouldn't really exist; unless you do something really stupid to them for some reason I can't currently fathom =P
Oh, also add dessicant in the zip-lock bag to keep them crisp (as said a zillion times previously)
Thx for the reply P_P...
Dj ScAtTeRfAcE what ahppend to your post??
quiet roar: I have never come across a fairly dry sub that doesnt have some blue on it even before I cut the stem. The stem will be quite firm and blueing at the top end near the cap. IMO they are easier to ID than really wet/younger specimens because often even the caps have been bruised blue somewhat.
