I am sorry for the wall of text, i just really need an answer, help, and advice on how to reconstruct my life from this uncontrollable disease that ruined everything i had and im only 17 years old and going into 12th grade. Just so you know this is my first thead/comment considering I just joined but I have been a long time reader of these forums.
With that said, I need help.
In december of 2010 my friend had me try a percocet 10mg and obviously, I loved it. So I started getting them more frequently and eventually graduated to oxycodone 15 mgs. After a little while I started doing them 3-5 days out of the week and before I knew it, I was taking oxycontin 40mgs. In the following weeks I switched from 3-5 days a week to every single day of the week. My tolerance for the opiates quickly heightended to the point where I was doing 130mg of oxycodone pretty much every 24 hours on the dot. Then I got caught by my parents and stopped for a good month or two. But then I found a way to get 40s, 80s, perc 10s, 15s, and 30s absolutely free whenever I wanted to. (how do you think most abusers my age get theirs for free?). So I started abusing again on a daily basis for recreational purposes only. My tolerance kept rising to the point of where it's at now -- 225mgs all at once every 24 hours. Somedays I due 550mgs because I do it before the 24 hour mark from the last dose. The point is that this full blown addiction to opiates has ruined my school career, tore apart the trust between my parents and I, I weigh 115, and my personality has completely changed. When I try to stop taking them cold turkey, I get sick to the point of it being unbareable. And now I can't get to them anymore cause they are locked away so I'd have to buy them which is an unbelievable amount of money I don't have. Anyway my questions are: 1. Should I come clean with my family and tell them about my addiction so they could help me even though they are the ones I have been stealing from (even though they already think I am stealing it from them)? 2. Is 225mgs at once everyday for the last year to big of an amount to try to go cold turkey on? 3. If I went through w/d from going cold turkey, will the side effects be mild or severe? 4. Since if I go to rehab for opiates I probably will never be prescribed anything that has any addictive qualities for the rest of my life even if I legitimately need them, should my parents try to wean me off slowly with their prescription opiates (they are legitametly prescribed to them by their doctors due to spine and back inflammation and pain)?
I'm sorry for the long comment but I really honest to god need help and people to talk to who may have been in this position before. I know it is my fault because of my immature decisions but no 17 year old highschool junior should have to go through this and watch their lives crash and burn right infront of their eyes. I just really need help or I am afraid of what will soon come. All comments will be appretiated. Thank you!
