Harm Reduction ⫸Should I Try HEROIN?⫷

To anyone thinking of trying heroin, I strongly recommend you read these posts by anonymousH on Reddit where he chronicles his journey from the first score to his overdose, death, rehab all in just one year.

2 weeks ago I tried heroin 'once for fun' and made an AMA, I have been using since and shot up for the first time today, AMA

Ok. What's AMA?

Finding pure H will be the biggest issue. EVERYTHING is cut with Fent. Especially in the USA.
I am convinced and I don't care who you are, I am convinced that nobody can find heroin in the United States, unless you're ordering it from the dark web or you're on the west coast and you have a solid connect for tar but even that is going to be cut with fentanyl, probably are rare occasion or significant circumstances upon getting it which are a pain in the ass.
I don't even think it's being trafficked into the United states at all whatsoever

I think the post falls into the typical trap of opioid determinism—the idea that "if you try heroin, you'll get addicted, because that's what happened to me."

The reality is more complex, "only" ~25% of people of tried it get hooked. While I believe that opioids are generally not worth using recreationally (with perhaps the exception of milder ones like kratom), I also think the view that recreational use is impossible is just as harmful, as it absolves people who have tried them of their own responsibility, because once you try them you'll find out that that they not that difficult to control, then you'll let your guard down and thought you have been lied, and that's when you get hooked.

I've tried heroin a couple times like 8 years ago and I didn't became an addict. I don't think is really better than oxicodone (which I've tried around the same time a couple times as well). Don't get me wrong, I don't have any desire of keep doing experiments with them because their addiction potential OFC, but if you've tried it a couple of times, don't worry too much; just don't do it anymore, and that's it.

As a final statement: DON'T TRY IT, it's not worth the risk, there's drugs that are more interesting. But if you DO, don't be a retard and take precautions.

I just wished I’d been given the chance to make this decision.

But I never got a choice so I never even got to ask this question.

Its like someone put opiates in my mashed taters while I was growing up but never told me.

Its like a guilty conviction without a trial ….before I even got the chance to become an adult…

It’s like being hungry but you can’t buy food cause you need a pill more

It's like always having to lie to the people you really love

It's like waking up everyday mad because you already know what you gotta do to function

It's like always having to drink the poison you already know is killing you

It's like knowing ahead of time that you gotta take a drug test but you still fail the damn thing

It's like all of your time is ran by your drug dealers time

It's like having to sell everything you love just to be able to function

It's like losing everything but nobody cares cause they think you deserve it

It's like nobody believing a word that you say even when its true

It’s like having every thing you say dismissed or invalidated

It's like being a prisoner inside your own head because you’re doing it to yourself

It’s like not being scared of death because you know its the only way out

It's like missing out on all family functions because you were too high or too sick.

It's like no longer getting invited to family functions because they know you’ll be high

It's like always living in fear of losing your own children

Its like everyone thinking you’re toxic

It’s like having to be friends with people that’ll steal from you

It’s like having to pretend that you don’t realize you’re getting ripped off

It’s like watching everyone else get to live their life while you are destroying yours

It’s like everyone else getting to control the narrative to your own life

It's like no one ever understanding because they will never have to

It's like being on fire but everyone pretends that you're not

It's like always having to do whatever it takes to get it because you have to

It’s like knowing that you’re killing yourself but you can’t figure out how to make yourself stop

So no….I don’t think it’s a good idea

I’m sorry but I can’t help but wish I was the one asking this question

I agree with this person. All the intel I have says it gets fented before the US border -- but the xylazine is almost always after the boarder. *The more you know*...

Again if you are absolutely sure heroin is the only active ingredient is the FIRST MAJOR question

Do you think Ill be able to hit myself tonight? Im on a losing streak from low blood pressure/ dehydration.

No not unless you are damn good at it already! Dehydration is one of the worst things you can do before said activity, my BP is normal but low can't help either.

Wait until it will be a pleasant and safe experience at least. DO NOT USE ALONE. Have Narcan on hand, a few doses. Of course you shouldnt try heroin but if you are reduce the chances of harm as much as possible.

If the first lines are true, there's no guilt in being an addict in the first place. Second question would be:
What all did you try to end the cycle?
