Felt - September Lady

I've probably posted this recently but I'm unrepentant because: a) it's Felt, b) it's September, c) it's beautiful and d) try to stop me.

Looks like a lovely morning. I need to get out into it soon.

This song makes me wish I were watching the light creep in through somebody else's curtains, with no obligations and no intention of leaving the bed until it's absolutely necessary. <3

Sorry, got carried away there.

There's an alt-rock vibe going on here which pleases me greatly.

No doubt there'll be the usual deluge of 'choonz' from faceless DJs with interchangable Western European names before long, but until that point:

Sugar - If I Can't Change Your Mind

Some songs get less affecting with time and familiarity. Not this one.

Much reluctant and slightly-soured <3 to the various people who have provided the bittersweet moments for which this song has been my personal soundtrack for more years than I care to remember.

Oh, and I'm only joking about the interchangeable Euro-DJ types. Kinda. People have different tastes after all... even if some are just wrong. ;)

for some reason I have 3 copies of that on vinyl [Copper Blue] Im not a vinyl collector, so not sure why I'm in possession of 3 identical albums. possibly all of my ex's had a copy, or did. oops.

LOVE it a ton tho and it's shamelessly melodic. Love Du, and Nova Mob a ton. but their solo stuffs I haven't made enough effort with. i should remedy that

Nova Mob get a slot in my Top 10 albums ever list, for Last Days of Pompeii. An epic tale, not 100% sure of the whole narrative, but i get the jist. and it's got melody and class in spades. if you havent heard it, pleeeease give it a shot, and if you cant find a copy, ive got one. and if youve already heard it, you possibly already love it

Nova Mob - Where Are You Gonna Land (Next Time You Fall Off of Your Mountain)

[edit]
that's not even remotely the best track on the album, but I couldnt find a decent tube of Wernher von Braun

famous last words. ;p

currently listening to:
The Dead Weather - The Difference Between Us

when I first heard these, I had a hard time comprehending that it was the chick from The kills. it still makes no sense to me whatsoever. I think the kills are kinda boring. In the Dead Weather she's devilishly intimidating; female vocalists able to pull that off are few and far between, imo.
Her + Jack White = dirty, Led Zeppish awesomeness. the whole album screams, 'move over amateurs, the grown up's have arrived'. would be a total surprise if they didnt have a ton of 'fun' while making this album, because they seem/sound like a McRock perfect pairing.

Live version
[^she kinda looks like patti smith a bit .. hmn maybe that's the intention]

Swans - Her <3

Okay, I've posted this more than once, but if anyone can find something more beautiful than this then I'll plunge the rustiest knife in our kitchen right through my jugular. Tonight. Okay?

Unsurpassed.
