Fire Poi, Fire staff, Glowstringing, Fire hoop, Fire breathing! LETS SEE IT!

Thizzle burned her nose and neck today. Its not horrible. Her eyebrows look like they got a buzz cut though. :D

Do you like to spin poi?

I don't believe I've ever seen a poi thread on bluelight but if there is one, another mod should feel free to lock this. I also searched for one but it didn't turn up any results.

I recently got into spinning poi due to my new group of friends enjoying it quite a bit. I'm of course a beginner and learning so I'd like for there to be a Poi discussion thread.

If you don't know, poi is the art of spinning fire but I use stuffed socks and my friends that are decent alternate between socks and these cords with lights at the end. Its enjoyable and decent exercise as well.
 
There used to be one in SO but it was ages ago so its entirely possible that it was pruned. Thats where I'll send this one though, I'm sure this new generation of BLrs will be just as interested. If I recall, the last thread was fairly successful.

Very niiiice. I started to get into staffing at the beginning of the year, but never made it far enough to play with fire. Not before i knocked myself in the eyebrow one day and got the most epic black eye ever. There are pics of it on bl somewhere.

n3o has pointed out that we have a Fire poi, fire staffing, and other various fire spinning threads. But I was to keep this separate.

Logic, I enjoy good poi shows, as well as good staff and hoop shows. Its really get up in memphis with all the Hipster crowds(i would know). I got into staffing for awhile, then I got this here black eye.

I never got back into it thought due to life just kinda going nuts there for awhile. My friend started spinning staff to help him quit smoking, and got really good. I might like to try poi instead, to avoid any more injuries.
 
Poi is awesome. I certainly wish I could do it without hitting myself in the jewels though. >__<
 
I suck at poi but appreciate those that like to put on a show for me, specially fire poi!

And ek, that little device is called an orbit. I actually make and sell those out of Inova lights, nylon string, zip ties and key chain rings. Very easy to make, relatively cheap and very cool.
 
^^ That's exactly what my mate does (the guy in those pics). But he doesn't sell them...perhaps he should! :D

I remember hitting myself in the face a good many times (never with fire though, despite the username ;) )... I really want to get into hooping though. I think that would be good exercise and it's fucking sexy to watch other girls do it. I love to dance, I just need to get me a hoop now.

There are a few girls who use hoops at the outdoor psytrance parties we have here in Sydney, I get totally mesmerised by them when they're hooping 8o *droooool* <3
