The most beautiful visuals you had in your life

well put IamMe90. but just to re-kindle the discussion a little...
Although Ismene did tend to give his opinion in an arrogant manor, i still think he's right. But I also think Alydrops is right too.
I really strongly feel that the ayahuasca experience is all about THE MIX of dmt and harmalas.
yes... dmt is the primary one responsible for the 'magic', but the harmalas definetly alter the trip significantly.

I remember a trip of mine in particular where I made an awful decision to go ahead attempting ayahuasca without a scale... and i basically ended up ingesting 4-5 grams of syrian rue instead of 1.5-3... and boy oh boy was I ever fucked.
I was much more sedated than usually, my vision was blurred and shaky, not to mention I was high before even taking the DMT (because I take the drinks seperately).
So i mean.. theres definetly value in both plants, and like i said earlier... caapi is different in its own right too. they are all psychoactive... and for most people even hallucinogenic.
If you don't believe me, try brewing a Mimosa brew (x2 the amount in weight) and it will still be active because the plant contains mild MAOI's. You will notice many changes in the visions versus a mix of mimosa with caapi/syrian rue.

The arguement is silly because everyone knows that DMT is the main contributor, and that there are many admixtures (yes, perhaps the shamans of the rainforest would say it is precisely the reverse). But the effects of DMT are well-documented and we know it's what creates those top of the scale hallucinations.

I think the important thing to understand is that it doesnt matter how you feel about ayahuasca, pharmhuasca etc.
The force and the light are an inserperable knot. And you really cant make a traditional ayahuasca without the one and the other.
And if you like it a different way... then dont call it ayahuasca, or at least make a clear distinction.

Perhaps you could say the caapi is the source of the visions and the DMT is the method of transportation for ayahuasca admixtures that contain DMT.

See, this is what I'm saying. Caapi is the teacher, DMT is the visual medium (and rightly so). DMT alone for me is obviously still very visionary but not nearly as much so as with the harmalas. There's much less structure to the visions when it's on its own, it's just like a smack in the face.

Exactly. That's why I, among other people I know, find DMT to be an interesting experience but not usually that visionary because it is too chaotic and mentally paralyzing. You can pull some sort of meaning out of anything if you try hard enough. You definitely can have visionary experiences on DMT but its not a guaranteed thing in breakthroughs like some people make it out to be.

yeah man I totally agree. Thats why I smoked DMT once or twice... and never again really, because it was basically just a quick burst of mind-fuckery. Something that I could barely decipher, nothing substantial to hold on to.
I find salvia that way too.

Have you tried it with moclobemide?

Thank you for making my day. I'd love for you to give me some sources other than your opinion that show that you can't trip with just caapi.

Well it depends what you mean by "trip". You arn't saying caapi is anyway comparable to mushrooms or DMT are you?

No of course not. I mean trip in the general sense of hallucinations/visions/psychedelia.

Most people won't get hallucinations/visions/psychedelic effects from caapi. Vendors sell caapi and call it "ayahuasca" in an attempt to fool the gullible.

You need the DMT for psychedelic effects.

^ Actually I think the word "ayahuasca" refers to B. Caapi specifically. When a brew is called "ayahuasca", the implication is that the brew contains B. Caapi, but not necessarily a tryptamine-based admixture.

^^

That's the common story but it's not certain apple, according to a couple of recent ayahuasca books I've read the early translators wern't interested or very skilled and just accepted one word for both the tryptamine drink and the vine itself.

And to be honest, does it really matter what a south american indian thinks? We know DMT is the thing you need to get psychedelic effects. Anyone interested in the psychedelic effects of ayahuasca needs to be taking DMT. If you're taking it to make you vomit to help get rid of worms in your gut - as the indians sometimes do - then perhaps caapi by itself is useful.

The most amazing visual I've had would have to be on my most recent DMT trip just yesterday. It was late in the morning, very sunny and not a cloud in the sky; needless to say a really nice day. Anyways, after taking a huge toke out of the bong I sat down and watched the Earth's colors intensify like I've never seen before! EVERYTHING was so bright, but yet kept its color (no color changes as this tends to happen with me on DMT) It was just so awesome, all I could think was "The Earth is such a beautiful place".

Harmala alkaloids can definitely be psychedelic. A typical experience for me is sort of like vivid, intense lucid dreams without the REM atonia. But yes, it's nothing at all like DMT.

There is more than one documented report where individuals experienced visuals on harmala alkaloids.

Through my brief experiences with mushrooms and DXM, I rarely experienced profound OEV or CEV's; cannabis, on the other hand...wow. I still remember in my early days of cannabis smoking the intense psychedelic visions my minds eye produced. Spectacularly complex and creative. I've been smoking for 3years now however so I rarely get to enjoy them on the same level.

You can experience "visuals" on everything from alcohol to diphrenhydramine to huffing paint. I wouldn't call those psychedelic either. Think before you post.

The reason why so many people here make personal attacks about you is that condescension and arrogance are far, far more irritating than ad hominem attacks.

You also miss the point of this board, we're not here to simply state opinions and move on, we're here to have cohesive discussions, which you simply refuse to participate in - you state your opinion and smash it against peoples' faces like a blunt instrument. If you were only interesting in "stating you opinion and moving on," anyway, you wouldn't drag out arguments with us to the degree that you do - the fact is, you enjoy angering people.

I see it more as a sign of insecurity, which is to be pitied and treated with compassion. He seems to me to be addicted to being "ALWAYS RIGHT." And in his mind for some reason only his psychotherapist could determine, that has translated into "And for me to be RIGHT everyone else must be 100% WRONG, and sometimes they need to be insulted for it." He seems to be getting a little better about the later. I like him... he's just a little, um, emphatic in certain ways sometimes. So am I. It's called "personality". Learn to live with it.

Presumably going back to personal attack is an acknowledgement that you have nothing to contribute on-topic? Just when you were making a little progress too.

The nicest thing I ever saw was from DMT smoked. Everything went blacker than black smooth surroundings and a round hatch began to open before me. It rose above a golden pole with a goddess dancing the most seductive of all dances, moving so effortlessly and twirling and wearing the finest colored silk. I could not see her face, only her form and the flowing silk colors and textures. She was friendly and laughing kindly, entertainingly with me.

Craziest shit I ever saw was on LSD blotter, I made a cup of coffee and put in an ice cube. The cube rolling around in the cup became a large scarab beetle, threatening but interesting and beautiful with perfect symmetry and a deep black color that had me staring at it when normally I would run away.

lsd+mushrooms+mdma is tied with MXE+DPT in my book, just on opposite spectrums of the tripping scale.
So I smoked something like 140mg of DMT the other day on the end of a MXE peak. Hahaha, I had no fucking idea DMT could do other things but just shapes and structures. I saw people, and we all were in a giant castle, at first they put me in a bed and just laughed at me telling me to breathe. Once I got a handle on that they took me by the hand and it felt like we became trains and were going from room to room in this castle, and a new person in the rooms would take me to the next room, and tell me things along the way, a few of them took me to their own secret rooms where it was just me and the one person talking, playing with the strangest looking psyhedelic machines/toys that I have no idea what was going on with them really, fucking, or being instructed on something. I have a desire to do ayahuasca and DPT ayahuasca, simple tryptamines are amazing.
