Seperated.

I am the 1st generation of many to not even know what the world was like before 9-11-2001.
I have never been into an airport and not constantly see metal detectors n bomb dogs.
I'm only too familiar with the word terrorism.
Was this the pivotal moment that changed the attitude of the West from calm and innocent to ready and prepared at any time??
I feel that, just like Pearl Harbor, one even thrusted us forward into a new planet.
I don't feel like I'm living on the same planet that was once home to the great heroes of the world...

What's strange though is that I went on a plane circa '03 and took a carry on that was a suitcase--Like three feet tall, two feet wide. All I had to do was walk through a metal detector and put my bag through the scanner. In the bag, I had shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, etc, none of which was in special containers or anything. I don't think the crackdowns started happening 'til more recently with all the other shit. But that's a topic for a different thread.

It's gotta be weird to be so removed from 9/11/01. I remember where I was when I heard about it, and my initial reaction of "...So a plane hit a building. Big deal." I figured it was a Cessna hitting at most a 10- or 20-story building.

Me in one word: Headachey

Cold
AGAIN... guna try n brave it the suns out once i get moving i tend to warm a little, semi-tropic region and im in two jumpers, might hold off till midday but its gunna happen.

OD, deep breaths man, you'll be okay <3

Me: siiiiick *whimpers*
I haven't been sick all year, and now that spring is here I thought I'd managed to escape any sickness this winter. But nope, something finally got me, and it's got me good. It's not surprising I suppose, literally EVERYONE I know has been sick these past few weeks.
My head feels like a pressure cooker :(

Upset

Seeing all that 9/11 coverage again was so hard to watch. I really haven't seen much video or anything since the day it actually happen. I was a sophomore in HS and in one of the classrooms that was fortunate enough to have a TV, so we at least knew what was happening. Seeing it all again is almost more upsetting since it's mainly just sad and hard to watch now. At the time it was all sorts of sadness and anger and fear.

I really hope we never have to witness something like this again.

My condolences to anyone who lost someone that day. <3

I thnk it would be weirder to have your life split into pre-9/11 and post-9/11
I would almost imagine the past seeming like your sweet memories, but my fairytale...
Ahhh, gotcha. Yeah, it is a bit weird. I mean, prior to 9/11, there were quite a few subtle differences in day-to-day life. Take K-12 buses for instance: Since 9/11 (or so I was told by a bus driver), a child below a certain grade (think they said 1st?) cannot be dropped off at an empty bus stop--The parent/legal guardian has to be there.

I remember I got dropped off at the bus stop when I was about 5, walked home (~1/8th of a mile from the bus stop--we have a gated community minus the gate), Grandma wasn't there, so I went about 1/8th of a mile to the neighbor's Grandma said she'd be with... No one was there. So I went another 1/8th of a mile to another go-to neighbor's... who gave me milk and cookies until Grandma showed up. :P (She got stuck in traffic leaving Canada.)

Had that happened now, my grandma would probably be arrested for child endangerment. 8(

Anywho... Me, in one word? Hot. Temperature-wise, heh. Have three pots bubblin' away on the stove.

I thought I had answered this; I hadn't.

My word: tired - I'd like a day at the salon for my hair and nails. I'd like to nap and at present, I can't.

I'll get a good night's sleep tonight. On assignment. Need to run :(

Word: exhausted.

Determined.

I have my performance review at work in a couple of days, which means it's time to air some grievances. And ask for a reference letter :)
