Mixing alprazolam and oxycodone

so i just intook 4mg alprazolam this morning and now im going to go get two 30mg oxycodone instant release pills..my question is, is it ok to mix these or will the high of the xanax kill off the high of the oxy? thanks and any other tips are appreciated...the first time i mixed 4mg xanax with 30mg oxy i barely felt the usual oxy feeling..thanks again guys
 
Benzos typically dull out the euphoria from opiates for me too. The only benzo I actually found to add to the euphoria of opiates is diazepam. Alprazolam usually just overpowers the opiate high for me.

Im assuming you have a tolerance to both because to someone w/o, it could be a dangerous mix. Ive mixed Ativan with oxy & hydro before & the high was definitely different, not something I liked much because I dont like benzos very much. I prefer Somas mixed with opiates.

I think you mixing that much Zannies with oxy will screw up you oxy high.

Usually opiates and benzos synergise with each other, boosting their effects rather than cancelling them out.. I'd be more worried about the effects being boosted too much and pushing you into overdose territory rather than having little effect! Have you tried oxy without xanax, and if so what dose do you usually take?

I see you say you are getting 60mg oxy which is more than you had the first time you mixed them, so be careful - I wouldn't take all of the 60mg all at once, I'd take 30mg like before then have a bit more if you feel okay, and titrate up.

4mg of xanax is a big dose - maybe that is why you can't feel the oxycodone as in comparison 30mg of oxy isn't really a big dose. Ideally I'd say trying decreasing your xanax rather than increasing your oxycodone, but if you've already taken the xanax then too late for that!

Be careful about taking a bigger dose of oxycodone with what is already a big dose of xanax (and def don't add in alcohol or another downer) - as I said I'd go for 30mg plus maybe another 15mg if you are feeling okay, then the second 15mg again if you feel okay and not overly sedated and your breathing feels normal rather than jumping straight up to 60mg.

Xanax and oxy is like my all time favorite combo lol. I do think that if you do too much xanax with it you sort of forget you're high tho lol.
 
I didnt really read all the other replies but i have heard it can be very dangerous to mix a benzo and opiate, excuse me if im wrong
 
You are very correct. The two are both downers and they're effects are potentiated by eachother. People, even those experienced, sometimes will just nod off and stop breathing. Definitely DO NOT throw alcohol into the mix, just saying, I'd rather tell you then not.
 
Yes, benzos and opiates do potentiate each other, as in increase the effects of both.

It depends how much of a tollerance you have to benzos / opiates / both to how safe this combination is but if you have no or a low tollerance to these then you should be cautious with this combination. Like effie said, start with 15mg perhaps and then just do bumps from there but wait long enough inbetween bumps and monitor your breathing.

Could be a very nice combination, not one of tired myself but I have done other opiates with other benzos so enjoy mate, just be safe. :)
 
no one can truely know your tolerance other than you. it sounds like you have taking this combo like this before so i think you should be fine. but remember, you can always take more and never less
 
my tolerance to both benzos and opiates are very high, and the xanax i took probably 3-4 hours ago and am just now about to pop one 30mg oxy and another in about an hour
 
You should be fine just pay attention to you tolerance. I've popped 3-4mgs xanax, and 30mg or so of oxy and gone out drinking all night. Wouldn't recommend it tho lol.
 
Good combo imo.

i have a very high tolerance so 200mg diazepam and 10mg alprazolam + 160mg oxy :)
 
FWIW people not too experienced with benzos and opiates should tread lightly mixing the two. I've ODed twice mixing them, but fortunately everything turned out fine.
 
^very true. I find it really hard giving advice on what is safe over the internet, as it depends on tolerance and even then experienced people can slip up.. it is always best to be cautious, start low and work your way up :)
 
Probably be smarter to lower the dose of the benzo. That, to me, honestly sounds like a combination for falling asleep in the back of your friend's car.
 
Unless you have a high tolerance to Xanax, I'd cut down to just 2mg of Xanax with the Oxy.

It is one of my favorite combos. Don't drive if you combine them because nodding out will probably happen.
