The FDA has known since the 70s that Piracetam potentiates the effects of amphetamines and psychotropics.
However, the very existence of websites like BL may be increasing the global demand for these products.
I would be very surprised if law enforcement wasn't bothered by this and reporting the trends they see to district attorneys.
It is also easy to find bodybuilding forums where discussion of nootropics is common-place.
College students have used it to help them obtain levels of focus they could not otherwise achieve - without the risks of stimulants.
The internet is spreading the benefits and purported safety of these products to a wider audience.
I have read a few reports that US distributors are being to told to stop selling, simply because Piracetam is not a vitamin or nutrient.
As I understand it, a loophole in an import law passed in the late 90s allows Piracetam and other racetams to be classified as nutritional supplements. It appears that at the state level, this is being contested.
At the federal level, the racetams are still NOT classified as a drug.
That means it is
unscheduled and therefore legal to posses AND manufacture.
That doesn't mean that selling and advertising it as a 'supplement' will go unchallenged.
The courts may be forced to intervene in the matter, if the distributors stand up to the DAs.
Based on current federal law, we should be
fine.
State law....who knows.
IF the FDA gets the Congress to schedule these molecules as 'drugs' then it would likely require a prescription to obtain, along with a higher price. It could also make importing it illegal, essentially closing the loophole.
Try to remember that this is a democracy, and there are many people using these supplements for purposes other than potentiating MDMA. If the FDA
does try to take definitive action, we will likely find out. Then we simply need to involve ourselves by contacting our representatives/senators.
As a group, we may have some influence.
If it could be established that these 'supplements' offer neuro-protection from toxicity, it might help.
Some of these websites likely still posses a stock of their product.
I emailed a few and was told simply to call them to place an order...
I recommend
www.cerebralhealth.com, as it has ALL the racetams plus Noopept available in small to large quantities.
It is a Florida-based company and still has all the products available.
Piracetam is by FAR the most affordable, and searching for SNS Piracetam will reveal the lowest price on the web.
Google, Amazon, and Ebay, but not the website recommended above.
Everyone but SNS charges $85-100 for a kilogram of Piracetam.
SNS is only $65
with shipping for 1kg, but you have to buy it in .5kg tubs for $32.
Some have questioned the validity of this brand in bodybuilding forums due to pricing, with many responses advocating it as genuine.
I have ordered some, but have not tried it yet. I strongly recommend against daily long-term use of Piracetam, as very few medications/supplements are harmless with uninterrupted use.
I always recommend combining Piracetam with LOTS of fish oil.
Several months of use has convinced me that the two simply work together.
The Piracetam increases cellular membrane permeability, while fish oil increases the coating on the outside of these membranes to improve signal transmission.
Caution - Piracetam has been shown to reduce acetylcholine, a critical salt/neurotransmitter found inside the membrane itself.
A choline supplement is highly recommended for long-term use of Piracetam.
However, do NOT overdo the choline, especially with phosphorus based compounds.
Limit yourself to a few hundred mgs per day.
Lecithin is the most cost effective source of Choline, but the dosage of choline is
quite high.
For short-term use, it has amazing benefits on sexual function.
It causes all of your glands to swell up - so be prepared to feel a little strange/ill.
A side effect is increased cholesterol in your lymphatic fluid - this becomes obvious when you ejaculate!
Not only does semen volume increase substantially, but sensation does as well.
You can feel it all the way from the prostate....down the urethra. :D
I imagine women also experience an increase in fluids, but with all things moderation is the key.
Just thought I would go a little above and beyond, again.
Hope this helped.
