Do you believe in "super powers after DMT"?

I have to agree with you TID, assuming you mean supernatural powers as opposed to super powers which i tend to attribute to individuals wearing lycra

Yes, that would be a more correct way of stating it. Could a mod please change the title of this thread to prevent more confusion?

Sounds like some horrible, egotistical God Complex to me. Hate to break it to ya but DMT won't give anyone super powers. It's just a drug :/ sorry

I think DMT is a little bit more than a drug...

There is something quite a bit more profound there, but I don't think it gives you super powers.

I agree that it can have a profound effect on the psyche, this stuff. Couldn't resist taking the piss a bit, but I can see what people are on about.

It is 'just a drug', but I think when people say that they forget just how powerful drugs actually are. They shape how we live our lives at the end of the day.

DMT after effects - > synchronicity

Share your thoughts on the topic. =D

I had experience with Ayahuasca in Peru and later smoked DMT. Both gave me a better outlook overall.. for days after (Ayahuasca for weeks).
Now, whether it was my positive appreciative attitude that brought me into the flow, or the actual chemicals trigger brain functioning/influencing at a higher dimension, I don't know. People should not dismiss the effect as simply 'a drug'. Magically, things fall into place.

DMTs action is well understand to be Psychotomimetic, meaning: induces psychosis.

If a schizophrenic person came up to you saying they had "supernatural" powers you would rightly assume they were mentally ill. This is sadly no different. Taking a drug which induces a state of susceptibility coupled with a powerful hallucinogenic experience, then taking these delusions to be anything but imagination is psychologically unhealthy.

You guys make a big joke out of it, so obviously myself and others know a little more about this than you guys. Try to take something strange seriously for once, you may find the results startling.

Your arrogance is sickening.

DMT will not give you supernatural powers.. You may think that you have gained superhuman abilities, but that doesn't mean you have.

You mentioned strength a few posts up.. while the human mind is responsible for blocking SOME of a persons physical strength, it is simply to stop you hurting yourself.. losing that barrier would not be a good thing.

I find the terms "super powers" and "supernatural" kind of repugnant. They are sort of short hand ways of dismissing a world of unknown phenomena that people experience in their day to day, whether they are on psychedelics or not. When someone demonstrates psychic potential it's not supernatural, it's natural. It's not super human, it's human. It's not outside of nature, it is nature.

It's not accurate to say that psychedelics will give you special powers. It's more accurate to say that psychedelics unlock many corners of the mind that would otherwise be difficult to access, and in those areas there are usually hidden potentials that we don't quite fully understand scientifically. It's hubristic to say that we know everything human consciousness can do when we still don't even know the exact nature, location, or full potential of said consciousness.

For me, psychedelics greatly expand the powers of the creative mind to the point that I feel like what is possible is probably much greater than I'll ever know. At this point it's more fun for me to consider possibilities.

All DMT did for me is make me question reality a bunch more. Kinda dumb super power if you ask me "Existential Crisis Boy"

Find me a single instance of psychic potential that hasn't been falsified under closer examination please?

Simple answer NO, imo DMT isn't the holly grail (although it is among the strongest tryptamines) that unleashes you to think that there is super powers. IDC if people pull that "ahh man you didnt smoke enough". Imo any drug or enough of just about any psychedelic drug can make you feel like you believe in super powers buts that's what we call a delusion.

You know you can get $1million for successfully exhibiting paranormal abilities in a scientific setting.. nobody has done it.. wonder why? ;)

I think dmt-nexus would have more insight on this kind of question, it's all a bit wacky over there

rick, with great power comes great responsibility! noone would use their dmt powers for financial gain it's against the cooooooode

DMT taught me that the universe and I are interconnectected and I can be shown a circus any time I like and the beatufilul dream he dreams that Brahman is playing hide and seek with himself and getting lost for the fun of it and finding himself agains and kali is Going to wrap things up for us so we don't have to worry.

Would'nt want any loose ends trailing about would we?

And repeat.

It's turtles all the way down.

Ineffable was the word we're looking for. What a marvelous word!

i have argued with people about this in the past, and just like most things experienced with these drugs, its very subjective. who knows how much someone else's reality is effected by these things?

however one of the first times i tripped i was playing frisbee outside and i slowly became incredibly aware of my body and its movements through space. i could feel every nanometer my muscles flexed and loosened to throw the disc. i could see a long trail where the disc was flying and was able to aim better and better, throwing it faster and more accurately, getting cleaner with each throw.

i think with the right mind-set, you can use these experiences to get in "the zone", as athletes put it. certainly when i play music in this mindstate, i can make more connections between the connections. i think this video is a good example of what im talking about, worth it for those who havent checked it out:

"What do I make of this? This is one of those frustrating events that parapsychologists encounter when working with poorly controlled phenomena. It is not evidential enough to say that it was unquestionably a paranormal effect, yet it is difficult simply to say that nothing happened. It is comfortable to stick with our common-sense assumptions that the physical world is what it seems to be, and that a man (or his sense organs) is either located at a certain place and able to observe it or he is not. Some OOBEs reported in the literature seem to fit this view, while others have a disturbing mixture of correct perceptions of the physical situation with "perceptions" of things that weren't there or didn't happen (to us ordinary observers). Mr. Monroe reports a number of such mixed experiences in this book, especially his seeming to "communicate" with people while he is having an OOBE, but their never remembering it."(pasted from here http://astralcity.org/wiki/objective-proofs-reality-astral-projections)

the earth was flat before proven otherwise, there is enough evidence suggesting both that these things are real and that they are just product of fantasy so who knows really at this point ?
