Some gain, some lose. It has to do with the lifestyle you lead while dependent/addicted, not any intrinsic opiate effect.

this 2nd paragraph has to be the most asshole post i read today. intelligence??? what country are you from? I am assuming the u.s. where addiction is seen as a disease. I still have not met a heroin user (who is not new to it) who use in a recreational manner i.e. once in a while (I guess thats you?), unless of course they are on suboxone/methadone to bridge that gap. why belittle people overpowered with addiction-and what exactly are they ruining for you?

just browse the forums holy shit, most of the people on here are opiate abusers. look at how many post (not to mention views) there are about detoxing, relapse, using that one more time, sacrificing health, goals, rules set for oneself

I gained wait while on methadone becuase i had a bad sweet tooth, but on dope....pretty much every dollar out of my wallet would go to dope except maybe $2 for a big slice of pizza lol

or id walk around a supermarket just eating food

but my point is, some people reach a point where ther monetary resources just do not go toward food lol

I weighed a solid buck 20 but everybody thought i was on some 99lb shit. i never met nobody who put any weight on when they got strung out everybody i ever known ended up gettin all scrawny lookin off never eatin and just smokin and noddin and throwin up sick all the time. it aint a real attractive look at all, shit i look better now as a big fat prego bitch than i did when i was all strung out and skinny as hell. that is never a good look.

food doesn't have to cost anything in the US. We've totally lived on handouts from the Salvation Army while blowing several grand a month on dope--not because our lives were out of control, but because we could live that way. Really it's not like you develop a food tolerance. All you really need are a handful of PBJs, a few cups of milk, some apples and the occasional bucket of Chinese.

It's not our fault there's an international police apparatus that drives up the price of dope in the U.S.
 
I was skinny on heroin/opiates because they dulled my appetite where I did not have any hunger really ,so I lost about 125lbs. total on opiates although I am 6'4" and weighed 300 lbs when I started ,I got down to 175lbs on heroin and opiates...now Im; back up to 250 which looks right on my body frame and with my heighth....and whoever said china white is the only real heroin...lol..unless you live in SEA or Australia ,and some places in Canada and a few Major US cities you are doing columbian heroin not china white...lol...and if you live in Europe you are 99% of the time getting #3 afhani brown heroin base....lol..
 
I'm brand new to this forum, and I don't wish to be flagged as some kind of a troll because I have every intention of contributing and not just arguing. But I came upon this site when we were trying to find the story that 20/20 did on our fair city of Minneapolis, and I found myself drawn in by this particular thread.

I have to say, I'm really shocked by the ignorance displayed here on many levels. I don't even really know where to start.

I am from Minneapolis, as is my significant other. I have just over 12 years clean/sober, while he is a practicing heroin addict. That's a whole story for some other thread, in itself. Just by way of an introduction, so you'll know my personal investment and experience with this subject.

Minneapolis is a very real city with very real heroin - and other - problems. I used to live in New York, and Providence, and Boston, and they all have their share of good, cheap dope. In fact, I moved to Providence more for the dope, because at that time I intended on continuing to use, than for any other reason, even though I ostensibly went there for school. I was pretty much over trying to get off it at that time, and just wanted to go where it was cheapest and most abundant, and knew that out east it was cheaper. We used to do road trips out to NYC just to buy big bundles and bring 'em back (whatever we didn't use ourselves) and sell.

Anyway, the addict that I was then would be saying "Damn! I wish I was still getting high in Minneapolis now!" because it is so cheap and so strong, and these stories you're hearing are very real and very true, not just some allegation the news media is making up out of nowhere to generate attention. Doesn't really matter which ones they pick. I know all kinds of junkies, rich ones, young ones, beautiful ones, old scuzzy ones...anybody who's an addict knows this because if there's one "scene" where you meet everyone from all walks of life it's in a dope house. Anyway, so what if they pick some young, relatively attractive (is she?) girl, or scuzzy homeless kid, or whatever...Are they expected to represent any kind of a realistic cross-section? They'd have to show about 100 cases to do a "fair and accurate" representation/portrait of a heroin addict.

Tar is very common here. Minneapolis has seen a huge influx in immigrants from Mexico, and there are drivers and dealers all over the fucking place here. It's easier, cheaper and bigger than ever, and I know this because I still have a discerning eye and can see the effects on my significant other (a big dude) and I am telling you, the shit's strong.

I don't know what there is to be gained by saying "Man...what a bunch of idiots Our junkies and our dope is SO much better out here! They don't have SHIT on our dope, dude!" Junkie pride is so pathetic. I know because I used to be just like that. What used to turn me on so hard about dope and give me such a virtual boner now just makes me extremely sad. So much wasted energy. I wouldn't wish opiate addiction on my worst enemy, and I do mean my worst. It's the worst thing I've ever gone through, and it's a disease, which is why it affects so many millions, as you rightly claim. Even if those millions aren't addicts themselves, I think we all know someone who is.

Who cares if it's not as good as your dope. It's fucking up lives right here in Minneapolis every bit as bad. I went through nine months of treatment to get my shit together. I don't ever want to go back to that life, even as much as I loved getting high.

It just seems a bit ridiculous to sit in judgement about a place, i.e. my city of Minneapolis, when you quite obviously have never been here or only ever went to the Mall of America or something. Living out east, I remember being impressed that people from such a cosmopolitan city as NYC could be so misled about where I'm from, thinking it's some provincial, quaint little town. "Some little midwest town." As if.

Then, in addition to being ill-informed, you wanna look down on a place that you assume (incorrectly) can't have the great dope that you do, like that's something bad. I WISH we didn't have the plague of heroin in this city, but it really is everywhere, and easily obtained, and it's a big fat drag for anyone trying to get away from it.

Well I am from Minnesota twin cities and I would have to say that the above post from HospitalPants is not entirely true... Powder is decent and tar is even less potent here in Minnesota. It isn't bad but it surely isn't that potent. I know that the H is better in many other states than Minnesota from experience, not to mention cheaper this is coming from 25 years of living here. Much of this was just the media hyping this up but whats new....Hospitalpants The contributing posters were not being ignorant just stating what they thought about the topic. no one called you ingnorant after you long half true rant... All bluelighters should be entitled to there opinions just as you were.

This is my first post ever. Anyway. I started out with OC's and i remember right when i first started dabbling with H in Dec. of 2009 is around the time this article came out. I wondered if it would be more beneficial to switch to H. I got on Sub's for a while but that only helped for a month or two. Now I've fully abandoned pills since OP's hit and I try to grab H when I can. The only problem is that I have to go through a Middle man who also has a habit so he is always ripping me off . He has like a dozen connects on it though, but for me in suburbs of ST Paul, there ain't shit but a little tar. All the good powdered H is in MPLS.... IF you know the right people. I can't compare it to other markets but the shit is pretty flame. My middle-man dude told me that one of his dealers runs to Chicago for his shit. So obviously thats where the 20/20 show should be directed towards. edited

u should check the forum rules before you post again, most new members just ignore that shit and dont read em but its a good idea to do that cuz then youd know that type of shit aint allowed on here. Theres always people tryna use the site to buy drugs/make connections with ppl/find out where to get shit/etc, and it gives the site a bad name so the mods are mad strict about it. Sometimes if its clear somebody came on here just to try and get drugs and aint here for nothin else, theyll straight ban u off the site. I aint sayin thats wat you came here to do, it dont look like that, Im just givin u a heads up that they take it pretty serious.

welcome to BL tho, this is a great site but u def. should look at the rules of each forum before u post in it in the future itll save u some trouble.

Since when is tar the best quality dope? I'm sorry,I've had tar once, it was disgusting, very hard to break down and was pretty much the equivalent of scramble as far as the high was.

SA powder is the best, hands down.
 
lol seriously who would participate in an interveiw thing for one of these news shows, some little teenager smoking her black tar. I mean they could show you the 45 year old dude on 200mg methadone per day who sells his takehomes to buy heroin that he slams on the weekends.

Instead they show me this teen who would probably be unable to breathe on my dose of methadone. Just didn't get the feeling she was in very deep. And not much of a real addict, just she was perfect for dramatic effect because of her age. lol my parents arent willing to fund my fuckin dope habit.
