Australian raids net quarter ton of methamphetamine

^yeah I know drugs are there, but don't 'E' pills go for like 40 a piece? I thought generally speaking all ausi drug prices were super inflated because of a lack of supply / difficulty in obtaining. *shrug* definitely not my neck of the woods so I gotta take your word

(I'd be surprised if Melbourne beat New Jerszy for heroin capital of the world though hehe)

They're inflated, but it has nothing to do with scarcity.

^What else could be causing it?

I'd say a combination of the difficulty of importation leading to them to mark up the price to compensate for how much is lost, and a much smaller number of 'groups' if you will controlling the market, allowing them to set the markups as high as possible to maximize profit margins.

There's certainly no lack of drugs, meth especially is all over the place.

Looking at pill reports though its like when an mdma pill is found its a grace of god, like 1 mdma report for every 10 bunk reports?

Surely that is the mdma being scarce?

MDMA is scarce but I think crankinit's reply was more directed at the comment that drugs in general aren't scarce.

Also, remember while Aussie drug prices probably seem high to international people, we generally have much higher wages so in the end it works out much more evenly. A low wage here, that you could earn at maccas or behind a bar, is $17-22/hr. (And $40 a pill is wrong, we pay about half that).

Aussies pay out the ass for drugs... Bigger profits for the dealers means they will try to flood the place to make the most they can for whatever they are selling

Understandable, I heard that number 5 yearsish ago when I used to buy pills in the states. Then high end here was 20-25 a piece, average these days is like 10, so guess the markets fluctuated evenly globally. Quality must play a roll as was said about, like 1 in 10 pills are clean these days =\

We are a shitty island inthe middle Of know where over priced and under quality
And yeh they are given prices based on gram value
It makes the pigs looks better

That's where I'm from & it still sounds ludicrous but I won't go into anymore pricing discussion.

Drugs are an absolute rip off in Australia, and it varies from state to state. I thought Melb prices were bad, then I heard what it's like in WA.

Australia is such an attractive market, we pay more for everything here... whitegoods, clothes, books, anything. A price discussion which I assume is allowed is Levis. 501's on Levis.com = $59.90 US... Levis.com.au = $189.95 AUD. I assume they're several seasons behind too, but I wouldn't know, I haven't owned a pair of jeans for more than 10 years now.

You'd hope any idiot with half a brain would buy off Levis.com with the strong dollar and just pay the shipping. It would still come out less than half price. If we're dumb enough to pay $190 for jeans, we're dumb enough to shell out for drugs.
