"'F' is the New 'H'": The appearance of fentanyl (analogues) in the Seattle area

I know when making Fentanyl analogs you can use Acetyl Chloride instead of Propionyl Chloride (watched chemical). This gives you an increased Therapeutic index and is much safer. It last only about an hour and requires multiple redosings but since its active on the mg scale and not on the mcg scale its a hell of alot safer.

That isn't actually the case, r.e. therapeutic index. Acetylfentanyl is around 1/3 the potency of fentanyl, but has only 1/6 the therapeutic index of fentanyl. See a paper called 'Studies on 1-(2-phenethyl)-4-( N-propionylanilino)piperidine (fentanyl) and its related compounds. VI. Structure-analgesic activity relationship for fentanyl, methyl-substituted fentanyls and other analogues'.

Due to its potency and skill required to cut it properly, it can be deadly. Look into the 2006 fentanyl deaths.

Article starts out a bit slow, but gets a little better. Other than the premise, that there's a fent analog going around the Seattle area, and it might have been for a while, there's nothing really new. They should have talked to law enforcement, dealers, hr workers -not just users. And they should have had a sample analyzed, to see exactly what's in it and how cut it is.

The reporter did do those things, except for getting a sample analyzed to see exactly which analogue it was, which I agree he should have done. The article implies that LE officers and medical personnel were/are in the dark about its use (what else is new?).

Ugh. As if heroin isn't dangerous enough as it is! Fentanyl is probably the most dangerous opiate/opioid around when it comes to overdoses, etc. Be careful out there friends...

@Everlasting Reign....I am very sorry, you are totally correct about the therapeutic index being about 1/6 that of fentanyl.....I meant to say "increased Effective Dose and is much safer".....both Acetylfentanyl and α-Methylacetylfentanyl have much "safer" ED50 values vs. Fentanyl and are active on the mg scale. α-Methylacetylfentanyl has about twice the therapeutic index than that of Acetylfentanyl.

Yeah, I've used fent via IV and I agree, it was bullshit.

It's an incredible rush (although nothing touches hydromorphone).... but on top of the short duration that hydromorphone has, you nod out or get sick as a dog, so you can't enjoy the high.

I have no idea about the patches, though. Never had the inclination to use them. By the time I was that into opiates, if it couldn't get into my bloodstream instantaneously, it was worthless to me.

F is the new h? ha yea right! I've had the unlucky chance to
get fent as a prescription when I broke both my arms and hands,
It is nothing like H at all, fent made me tired and last time I heard
that people were cuttn h wit f, people were dropping out left and right,
Stuff is too strong, its gota b one of the analogues

Update:

Seattle "F" distributors busted: the same ones responsible for supplying the individuals interviewed in the article? Maybe.

Seattle Pair Accused of Selling Fentanyl, Drug 'Hundreds of Times More Potent' Than Heroin

If you thought heroin was the most intense opiate on the planet, think again. Compared to Fentanyl, a powerful synthetic pharmaceutical, mainlining plain ol' smack is like a drinking a cup of decaf. Now two Seattle men are in trouble with the feds for allegedly dealing the powerful drug.

ahhh i cant stand people who call a compound another compound just because it has similar effects. nothing else can be fucking heroin, just like how mdma is mdma, lsd is lsd.

my dads buddy is on fent patches, said he likes em more than hydrocodones. said with hydrocodones he'll wake up in pain and have to swallow pills and let them kick in, with fent he says he can put the patch on before he goes to sleep and he wakes up pain free. when he was just taking straight hydrocodones he was eating atleast 6-8 10s a day his back is extremely fucked, he had surgery done but it just made his back worse and his surgeon fucked up and now the hardware is lose in his back. im sure he is still trying to sue. i feel for em though he's getting old and in alot of pain, is a retired Vietnam vet.

But, more importantly, Mustafa had allegedly stockpiled "at least 200 usable ounces of usable Fentanyl."
. . . pure, white Fentanyl powder.

That's over a million doses by my math.

I'm gonna guess that's the usual overstated BS, maybe not in terms of quantity, but purity. The fentanyl in the Seattle is very cut, mercifully, somewhere between 50:1 and 100:1. I've never heard of it being encountered in a higher ratio. It's been solidly around for a few years, but is still a very small market compared to H and such. I'm sure the source,, wherever it is coming from, will find a couple new distributors now that these savory looking fellas are out of the equation. Very interesting. . .

No way should fent be getting in with h but you figure after the first bag sold the dealer would be aware that something's not jive with it. And would say hey to his clients go easy with the first bang of this stuff it's pretty potent.
