The cunts can only afford one sample kit for Reason because they've spent all their dough on enough acid to make the music bearable.
You're probably close there. Making music has never been easier and there lies the gem and the flaw in music production for the masses. It's a funny old thing, but I find most of the best music is made from people with musical ability, or at least a modicum of musical understanding. Crazy I know. But I also find most builders are better if they have a knowledge of what they do instead of just a few bricks, a bag of B&Q quick dry cement and a van.
Everyone with an interest rather than ability has a hacked copy of Reason or FL Studio/Fruity Loops these days. With that stuff, all you need is to be handy with copy and paste. If you have
some musical understanding and knowledge, then great, you
may produce something special. If not, you're more likely to produce mediocrity - at best. There's nothing wrong with that, but there is when people start to take themselves seriously.
Sure, I'm an old school musician now changing my style and experimenting with new technology, and I probably am a bit of a muso snob, but as such, it's so easy to spot the shit out there. And there is such a lot of the 'same shit - different texture' going off. Far too many people who just use off the shelf grooves, keyboard pads and bass loops etc, without even trying to adapt or create their own. Good fun, but it ain't inventive.

My point is, the above accounts for a lot of the shit out there.
