Newcomers - Cold Water Extraction: Method Do's & Don'ts

Feeling strung out so away to do with now, already took 200mg of tramadol earlier

doing this with codydramol .. is that an ok combo ?
 
^ Combo is fine. Just make sure to stay below 400mg of tram in any 24 hour period and never mix with serotonergics (mostly stims and psyches). Combos with opies and/or benzos are fine. I find tram + codeine to be better than the sum of its parts.

Are Solpadol really 30/500s? Pretty sure you need a prescription for any codeine tabs with 30mg of codeine in. Most brands are 8-12mg or so of codeine. Seven OTC codeine pills is a tiny dose by any standards unless you somehow did discover a brand that has 30mg... but I doubt it, to be honest.
 
oh dear god i thought chewing an ecky was bad but this oh ffs

How long can i expect about 10 codydromols to hit me .. so roughly 100mg

and is that enough to cover for a 40mg methadone need /./. i only have had 20ml last night

I generally feel a CWE in around 5-10 mins but usually takes around 20 to peak. I'd be amazed if you feel anything from 100mg of codeine if you take methadone regularly. In fact I'd be amazed if you felt anything much from any amount of codeine much whilst using 'done (unless you're one of us lucky folk who don't seem to hit a ceiling with it). Certainly not gonna cover 40mg of 'done, in my opinion. Should take the edge off though... but would take way more than 100mg. Hard to say though as you also used trams. I'd be looking at at least 300mg of codeine to even begin to take the edge off if I'd halved my 40mg 'done dose yesterday, personally. As a possible comparison, when I was scripted codeine linctus to replace a methadone taper one time (probably on 40-60mg of 'done at the time) I got almost 1.5l a day which stopped me clucking and even got me a lil buzz going. YMMV, naturally.
 
^^ I don't find a huge difference in potency between codeine and DHC but some do so definitely worth a go.

If you're feeling okay with what you've taken so far then enjoy. Redosing seems to be a mixed bag - works for some but does nowt for others. Seems to be mainly high doses that cause more problems with redosefail though so you should be fine.
 
well my heart was pounding like mad earlier with the withdrawals and now its settled, that was the main thing i was looking for so i might get some sleep ... impossible to sleep with ur heart banging like a drum

Cold Water Extraction - Paramol - Solpadeine max(red)

Hi people, I know there are numerous threads on this, however I can't seem to get the info that i'm looking for on them. I know that CWE can be done very easily with Solpadol 30/500 and results in an almost clear liquid everytime. Recently though SWIM tried Paramol and Solpadeine max in the same way and, however the Paramol is very cloudy even with a double filter and the Solpadeine Max the liquid is red (I assume this is just down to the red coating on the pills..)
Anyway, does anyone have any experience with either of these and can offer any advice on these 2 products?

Paramol is always cloudy, don't worry about that - if you are concerned double filter it, and don't do anything silly like squeeze it through.

Not heard about solpadeine being red, but if the capsules are red I imagine that's the cause!

As long as neither are effervescent tablets and you used something decent to filter you should be good to go :)
 
The method used there got me very clear solution a couple of nights ago. It wasn't Paramol I was using then but have had clear solutions using that in the past, or near enough. You can always filter a second time if you are worried, just cool it and repeat.

What are you using as filters? One trick I find works is wetting the filter first. Just dipping the end in cold water.

Also, I switched to using Boots own brand recently... why spend the extra money!! :)

I just happened to be in a LLoyds and that was all that was available. The Paramol is not leaving much goo in the Doubled up coffee filter (wetted 1st of course). Neither are effervescents, I almost always use solpadol as you get 30mg per tab, but had none left and fancied a relaxing evening. Now i've got a glass of Red liquid and a glass of what looks like.... well...... Milk almost!
 
That doesn't sound right. Especially if there isn't much APAP in the filter.

I would stay clear of the Paramol solution... sounds like the APAP has gone through the filter if it's milky. Best to be safe.

Another thing to watch out for is you've also got caffeine in the Solpadeine Max... potentially quite a lot assuming your using most of a pack.


*EDIT* - milky is one thing, and slightly cloudy is another... could always pop it in the fridge and see if any sediment settles at the bottom. It's just the lack of APAP in the filter that sounds suspect to me. Can always just filter again too.

Paramol is usually a bit cloudier. I used to use prescription co-dydramol and occasionally Paramol. I always noticed cloudiness in the Paramol and never with anything else, despite my technique being pretty damn good in those days.
 
Paramol is always cloudier, but with good filtering i manage to get it crystal clear usually.

Today i was inpatient and chucked it through a t shirt, was very cloudy, with coffee filters its crystal clear. (But there was still loads on paracetamol left on the t shirt, so i don't think more than a g would of got through). But it makes me paranoid so in the future im going to stick to coffee filters.
 
it's the caffeine free solpadeine. Fuck knows whats going on with the Paramol. I consider myself pretty adept at the old CWE, but think i'll avoid the Paramol just to be on the safe side. Cheers for the input though.
 
Might be worth filtering the paramol again, see if it gets clearer. Not anything to lose, unless you can't be bothered of course ;)
