Hmm, glad you approve. If you're not familiar with her work I'd recommend
anything she's done over the last 20 years. She's awesome. She's also taken to playing guitar behind her head, sitting on the floor etc. So she wins bonus points from me on that.
I don't tap much when I play, but i'm inspired by Dave Knudsen of Minus the Bear--He plays some pretty good stuff:

Hmm, that was quite nice. Not my usual, but still.
I've only just started to get to grips with tapping and it's been a challenge. But that's kinda the point. It's made it more interesting again.
And yea, every time I go to shows now, I'm glued to either a bassist, rythym guitarist or lead guitarist--It's how i'm learning guitar.
Even when I listen to music now, I follow it with a mental visual component of what the musicians are doing.
Yeah, I do this too. If I'm at a show my eyes are constantly on the guitarists hands and stuff. And when I listen to records, I always try to visualise where their hands are or what chords they're playing. I'm self taught, and have played by ear ever since I was 14, so visualisation has always helped me. I'm the same with maths. If I can't visualise it, I can never figure it out.
Alt tunings are the shit!
Indeed. Sonic Youth are the masters of alt tunings imo.
What kind of guitar(s) do you play?
Well, my two main ones atm are:
And you?.
at the moment im really into deerhunter/atlas sound, tame impala, stereolab, throw me the statue and pale saints.
im using a decent fender strat through pedals to a laney tf-200. im bored of this setup though. i want new stuff.
OK, so instantly I checked out Stereolab on wiki (I definitely need to listen to more of them) and it says they were heavily influenced by krautrock. Why not delve into that genre?, that is if you haven't already.
I like how this thread is coming along btw, guys.
