This is basically a thread to discuss the long term effects, however we can keep that under the vale of discussing the life and times of the legendary Mac Dre. The man behind the popularization of the word Thizz. Being the big fan of him that I am I can't help but wonder...Was this man immune to the long term side-effects or did he just not use it as much as his music would make you think. Anybody with any information on this?

Some examples of his music

If you look at all the "Thizz" usernames you'd expect a lot of Mac Dre fans or at least people who can shed light on the subject

I regret my username ftr.
And mac dre is an idiot.

Lmaooooo, blog it..

Just checked out Mac dre for first time, sounds like raw 80's techno, with a touch of under qualified, meaning less rap. Something one could ONLY enjoy while rolling, or had an IQ of below 100 haha jkkk not saying your stupid, just not a fan.. GZA and Big L's my game :D

But to answer you question, he surely seems like he ISN'T immune to the long term effects of MDMA, unless he was born that way...

By that I mean if you listen to his music you don't seem to hear about any depression, difficulties feeling sexual satisfaction, and some of the other dreaded effects of long term use. He also had a great business model running for independent music. I'm new to this, I use to be all about cannabis and abstaining from other drugs.

Liquid Swords is a top 3 album of mine and Big L at one time was one of my favorite rappers. I can't stop listening to Mac Dre because the variety of flows and hot lines. It's more about what he says and the character he uses when he says it.

What made you change your opinion on him?

his opinion never changed. "nation of thizzlam" was an inside joke he was privy too and used it as a user for the lolz

I think his "Thizz Dance" is soooooo fuckin' retarded, hahahahaha xD! I mean c'mon, he and his crew look like a bunch of flocking birds that literally have smelt a big pile of shit/piss when they do it.

But anyways, I don't think he was necessarily "immune." He probably had a high tolerance, and most likely got a lot of adulterated pills. Probably stuff like speed or something, that can be used a lot as opposed to MDMA and shit.

LOL it's suppose to look like that. I guess that's how the Bay Area was getting down. I've heard people blaming him for the demand for more speedy rolls in the Bay Area, because of the hyphy movement.

Yeah that's true, I've only listened to one song of his so I can't really depict what style of rapper he is, but what it seems like to me is, is that his music isn't based around life situations/struggles or dramatic views of politics or even self gratification. From what I've heard it's not the type of music or style, where hed mention depression or sexual discrepancies.. Basically the opposite of tupac or eminem, who "would" of and has written about problems from life, drugs and everything in between.

Yeah man im glad to see that you found this site seeing how you only just got into it. I would give $100,000 if I could have my time back and found this site before I abused. Only after in desperation did I find it, I would have been able to safe myself alot of agony.. So be safe! Also glad to hear you like GZA, that record was dope, beneath the surface and liquid swords are my fav, besides his solo shyt.

Check out Mac Miller - Outside , good intro to him if you havnt listened before, I got a feeling of you like big l n GZA like I do, you might warm up to this guy, especially if your a stoner..

He also has a track out titled Giggin.

Goes something like
"Skinny ass ni*ga, Giggin with no shirt on"

FYI, Giggin is the same thing as Thizzin

Yeah that is what I heard too. If that's the case, then there is your answer. I really hope America gets more informed on MDMA and can make the right decision in buying legit stuff. Only then can we finally get back our precious chemical back rather than having dealers feed off uninformed users. The more people buy crappy products, the more chemists will use those nasty adulterants in pills for their stupid profit. Blegh :p

Giggin can also relate to how one dances while rolling. At least thats how my friends and I relate to it.

Splinter's Thoughts (With MasterSplinter)

MacDre gave a shitback name to the MDMA community. He single handedly destroyed the community with a single e-tarded word.

"Thizz". Lets get "hyphy". What the hell does that mean? Is it a black people thing?

Sounds like a retard describing ecstasy to his ghetto friends IMO. Ill prefer to stear clear of that crowd at events and the second I hear that word I instantly discredit the person.

"Thizz" = "New Millenium E-Tard"

Mac Dre is a legend and he put it down for the bay area. May he thizz in peace. Also andre nickatina and mac dre made some dope songs together. Also Mac Dre has much more music that isn't like thizzle dance. To all you saying he sucks I'm betting you've never listened to his music and your following the band wagon in this thread.

Its Nothing by Mac Dre

Many rappers had a lot of respect for Dre. Even rappers many of you like who said Mac Dre is an idiot or sucked.

And the OP only put down two songs of his that are pretty ridiculous even though I still love them. Yet his raps weren't plainly just like that.

Check this out, everyone seems to love this style: Mac Dre - "Not My Job" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8Szl_JyCUQ

Mac Dre in a kitchen speaking before he's about to do Molly - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cDJUjYTlYc

Mac Dre - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxH9WhVcjbw Mac Dre chllin,

I really don't see why some people here wanna hate on him, it's not like he wasn't a likable character...

.....with an extensive catalog to match, but that's beside the main point of this thread - it just seemed like he rolled a lot and escaped long term side-effects, by 2004 (his last year) he was more productive then ever putting out 3 albums on 2 releases independently

Who knows if the ecstasy effected him or what not. Many famous people can be very successful but so fucked up on drugs and still releasing albums after albums. Even deadmau5 is huge and he uses speed. Just because so many people like him and he puts out a lot of albums doesn't mean the drugs aren't affecting him.
