Wow, that pretty much shitcans the RC industry for the near future. Or at least the commercial one selling "bath salts" and shit.

Two new markets for drug dealers have just opened up.
 
There are vendors advertising this stuff on youtube with tits n' ass vids and guys doing bong hits. They use lines like "BATH SALT & JWH MAKES GIRLS REAL HORNEY". Unbelievable. They're so stupid, they can't even spell horny. These idiots have never read anything but maxim and high times. Do any of these mooks remember Operation Web Tryp? One poor sucker is sitting for over 400 years for selling unscheduled products. 400+ years! Terrorists don't even get that kind of time. Even dumber than the vendors are some of their customers, suckers putting "bath salts" up their nose, and don't even know what it is. We can thank these breathtakingly blatant and moronic vendors for these bills.
 
What's the soonest this could take effect? Can't find a definitive date anywhere. Could we wake up tomorrow to a full RC ban in the U.S.? Thanks.
 
Aren't there some still missing? I know I saw a lot of the popular ones but there are some new promising RCs (well relatively new) 6-APB, methoxetamine and phenazepam are the chemicals I'm most concerned about.

Anyone with better chemistry knowledge care to tell me if the above 3 are about to get banned? I'm too baked to try to decipher chemical names at the moment.

If I had money to invest I'd put it towards whatever company is gonna get gov't contracts to see if the next RC is on the 2011 list. What are they going to test every packet of powder in the mail?
 
The very bottom section of the amendments appears to give them the ability to emergency schedule for longer periods of time, too.

They're avoiding the psychedelics as a favour to MAPS/Shulgin I guess (and because they generally have low abuse potential).
 
So you guys think this will go through 100% for sure? How long will it take to become law?

And yea at least they left most of the good psychedelic rc's off the list..

LOL, how the fuck could you post this and not include a link, that sounds unreal

EDIT: after searching I've found they are all for websites instead of brands, which would break the sourcing rules if linked to. they are easy to find though, and fucking hilarious, just search for "buy [x]" where x is bath salts or any of the RCs names

Interesting. I don't think this many substances have been simultaneously scheduled ever. What strikes me as most curious about this is the lack of phenethylamines, tryptamines, subbed amphetamines, 4-MeO PCP, methoxetamine, etc. At first I thought this was maybe due to these substances not making near as much noise as the "ketones" but now I'm wondering if it is something else entirely. It seems very plausible to me that all of these compounds are not being specifically listed because they are already viewed as straight up illegal due to being analogs of already scheduled substances. They are much closer ("substantially similar"?) to being "analogs" than most of the compounds in the bill are to methcathinone, which the DEA has argued in the case of mephedrone and MDPV. Hmmmmm....

Does anyone know how long it takes for a bill to go into effect, if they don't go with emergency scheduling but just the reg legislative process, isn't it something like the bills that pass during the year go into effect january 1st of the next year, so january 1st 2012 for anything passed this year, as long as they don't get fast tracked ie emergency scheduling.
 
This was to be expected. What they are calling "Cannibimimetic" drugs are being sold in head shops all over the country. It hasn't been voted on yet, but you can bet that it will pass. I'd give it a little time to take hold but probably within the year.

The rate the Fed moves is an unknown to all but them, unfortunately... Luckily, they can't really do anything instantly, so there is a fair chance that these will roll over into the 2012-2013 session.

same answer as given to Lady Codone above. but to speak to the fast track, as we are currently seeing MDPV, 4-MMC and BK-MDMA go the emergency schedule route, the DEA has to give us a minimum of 30 days notice between registering their intent to emergency schedule and actually completing the emergency declaration... so, again, nothing instant to worry about...

NOTE: 2011.10.08 is the earliest date that MDPV, 4-MMC and BK-MDMA can be scheduled... If you're into those materials, now is the time to stock up...
