I've recently finished my University degree and am starting full time work. I have gained a new more positive attitude since graduating. I am trying to leave old habits of procrastination, smoking too much weed and wasting time on computer and drinking.
I would like to find new friends and get fitter through running and lifting weights, playing squash, joining a taichi and yoga group, hiking.

I don't want to drop my old weed smoking, drinking buddies, but I think they draw me into bad habits. It's hard to separate our shared interests, like music, books and creativity without thinking of the weed smoke.
I think that the best way forward is to keep in contact with my old friends, but only doing healthy activities, like walks and sports and going out to art shows, while refusing to go to bars or out to score weed. I think this will weed out those who are my real friends and those who only want to get high with me alongside.

I'm wondering if theres anyone else who's made positive changes towards health and fitness, and how that affected their old friendships.

I think that as you get better and healthier with your own endeavors (walks, sports, art shows, et al) you'll find new friends and maybe reconnect with old ones. Maybe once you've been abstinent from weed for awhile, invite one of the pot smokers to an event where you cannot smoke pot.

When I fell into the deepest parts of addiction, most of my druggie friends left me where I lay. I managed to pick up the pieces with the help of a couple non-druggie friends and have since become mostly sober (six months!). I haven't had any contact with the druggie friends from my past but I've debated reconnecting with some of them and I'm still debating--You put it perfectly: "...this will weed out those who are my real friends and those who only want to get high with me alongside." That right there makes me realize that most of those old friends really only fit into the latter category...

Quality over quantity with friendships.

I like how your thinking man , but I was just thinking if there is anyone out there who is into BOTH a healthy Lifestyle AND exploring the drug world intelligently , I mean what gives ? where are all the true psychedelic people (especially in our generation , im 25 ) , why doesnt anyone have any discipline ?
So I guess I have a little of whats going on with you Jon0 , but i AM one of my pothead friends , I just also do alot of MMA and healthy living in general along with it

I, too, am in a rut with friendships. But what's more is the attempt to find decent friends who don't bring you into their problems, drugs included. I say give those friendships a couple more tries, but control your urges. Being in their company, observing the things they do instead of being a direct part of it, will help you make a more clear, concise decision. If they can't even go take a shit without being high, I say perhaps it's time to redirect your attention until you can find people with like interests.

Above all, remember this: don't force yourself to do things you no longer want to do. If need be, walk your path alone until the people who are walking alone join you for a while.

Yes there are but they are hard to find. There is really only one person who is in both my daily life and my weekend life. (my boyfriend hah) We make sure we eat healthy and we go on walks and stuff. Then on the weekends we get high! But besides him, I hang out with different people during the week than the weekend.

There are some people I just met who seem to be leading a pretty healthy life with some drugs. They live far away though, met them at a rave, they seem to be okay with it.

I am not sure where you can find them. I think it is just trial and error ...
