Hi eveyone, I'm new to this so please forgive me if I'm not exactly doing this all right. Anyways, a month ago I decided to take MDMA with my gf for the first time. We both ended up doing 500mg of MDMA during the night and had a great time. However, it has been 4 weeks and I still feel "out of it" so to speak and she is fine. I know now that 500mg was apparently way to much but hind sight is 20/20. I'm 28 years old, we smoked weed during the roll, as I was told that would help with the come down, and we didn't drink. Ever since then I feel spaced out, memory has been a problem, I feel "disconnected" from my environment, and my sense of time is also off. I've been taking 5-HTP, Multi Vitamins, Ginko, St Johns Wort, and L-Tyrosine as I'm told these should help. I've also been increasing exercise in my daily activities.

I am looking for anyone who has experienced this before, has any solid advice, or recovery stories. Needless to say I'm taking a long hiatus from all substances and doing my best to be healthy. Thanks for reading and sorry for such a lengthy post.

500MGs is a brutal first dosage, but like you said hindsight is 20/20. Anyway give it some more time, It sounds to me like you're doing t he right things. Just keep doing them.

Yea just keep doing these man until you feel an improvement. Id say give it a couple more weeks and if your still feeling out of it, go be honest with your local doctor. Tell him what you did and what your experiencing.

Yeah really all I can do for now I guess. I can think of only three things at this point, either A) my serotonin levels are completely shot and need to rebuild (however I don't really feel depressed) B) I'm experiencing something along the lines of derealization/depersonalization (although I dont think I feel anxiety, or C) brain damage. And and no health insurance so Dr.s of course are not cheap, figures right. But thank you really everyone so far for responding it really is greatly appreciated.

I would maybe substitute the 5-HTP, Multi Vitamins, Ginko, St Johns Wort, and L-Tyrosine with eating healthy and doing some exercise for a bit and see if that helps . 5-HTP is useful a few days after MDMA but I personally wouldn't want to take it everyday

With these sorts of problems the best advice is try to forget about them as monitoring your self for weirdness can lead to weirdness if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I actually decoded to stop the 5-Htp yesterday for that reason. Also another thing, I e been having like really vivid dreams at night. This whole thing is kinda like constantly having a few drinks in me but never really being able to sober up.

I month may feel like an eternity when you are suffering, but it's really not a huge amount of time when it comes to serotonin replenishment and allowing your receptors to heal. I've seen recovery take up to (rarely) 4 months.

Look into piracetam as well. Supplements can help, but nothing will substitute what time can provide you.

+1 for sure.

Check out this thread bud;

I posted a good, somewhat in-depth explanation of what the guy before me posted. It should help if it makes sense haha

If not, check out my profile and read some of my threads, I went/still am going on through the same thing and pretty much posted about every question you could ask haha, you should find all the help your looking for, or hit up the directory guide, its a sticky at the top of forum.

QFT

Not to say that's the OPs problem, it's just a general truth.

Hey thanks dude, yeah I've def come accross a few of your threads in my search for answers. Def very helpful stuff. So how you feeling these days? And what are your thoughts on paricetum as I keep seeing people mention that. As of now I'm just trying to accept how things are and chill out, only time it gets especially stressful is at work as I need to be on my A game to function most of the time. I also seem to get moderatly bad headaches during this time as well.

Anyway again thanks everyone for posting, really think it helps more than anticipated.

any chance you were on anti-depressants when you rolled? If so that's probably your problem. 500 mgs is way too much especially for a first roll. hope stuff starts to get better for you man.

Yeah no not on anything : / I've takeen SSRI's years ago but only for a small amount of time as I found they made my depression worse. I haven't been depressed or anything like that for years though either. Thanks

Not a problem dude, I know exactly how you feel, that desperate state looking for answers because your experiencing such a bizarre change with no understanding why. This site definately helped me out, basically anyone who posted in my thread back then would be a godsend so to speak.

As for my progress, I'm getting there. I'd say I'm about 70% give or take. I still have anxiety, bit of depression and real shitty cognitive problems. Stupidly, I replapsed last weekend and popped two pills, didn't really roll bc I was on SSRIs. It didn't make my depression worse, if anything it got rid or the anxiety and crazy obsessing over what I did, at an expense though, I've noticed I'm a bit slower and spaced out since before the roll, but much more chilled, so I don't really care.

I've basically accepted what I've done, not point dwelling you can't change it, and honestly that's the first step, I feel MUCH better than I did two months ago persay. As soon as you let it go, it let's itself go in a sense, if you know what I mean. I'm doing various things though, brain state conditioning, neuroreplete, I'm taking Aniracetam, alpha lipic acid, Ginko biloba, picamilon, bacopa, Pyritinol, ashwagandha, curcumin and I'm going to cycle some SJW soon.

The best thing you can do is daily aerobic exercise, healthy balanced diet routinely, read and write. At the end of everyday I write a 2-3 page summary of my day trying to remember every little detail possible, turn it into a mini story in a sense, also sleep is very important.

Btw, piracetam would be a good investment IMO, I'm waiting on my shipment.

Hey, I PMed you, don't think you can reply but let me know if you got it?

"Effects on Tryptophan Hydroxylase
-Administration of MDMA results in irreversible inhibition of TPH, suspected time to replenish TPH is 1-3 months
-Not directly caused by MDMA but rather from redox/quinone metabolites
-MDMA increases ROS and nitric oxide, nitric oxide itself inhibits TPH"

I.e, serotonin

Hey yeah thanks llama, I tried to write you back a couple of times but I guess the website thinks I'm not yet cool enough to be allowed to do that, sigh. But yeah wanted to say thank you very much for taking the time to message me, its very much appreciated. I've heard of some people experiencing side effects for months after, just not sure if people recover or not as most seem to stop posting. I will be making an appointment to see a Dr if my symptoms to not subside soon. Again thank you very much for taking the time to write, means allot and helps more than people think. I'll keep you posted on how I'm doing. Thanks again.

interesting, so if I understand you correctly your basically telling me that essentially I may have fried a bunch of Tryptophan Hydroxylase thus decreasing Serotonin in my brain? Also are you still on SSRI's? and if so do you think you've benefited from them? Thanks again somedud

I would stop all supplements and start eating veggies:

carrots, onions, dark leafy greens, squash, potatoes, & beans are the ones I like to eat. I eat them every chance I get. I recover pretty fast, usually within a month of a heavy session.

Supplements like tyrosine, 5htp, st john's wort - are fine to replenish your brain the next day, and following day. But you want to stop them after the second day. They may help short-term, but long term they mess with your receptors, similar to the way drugs do.

GET OUT IN THE SUN!!!

I cannot tell you how great I roll now that I try to make it a habit to go out in the sun daily. Sometimes your pupils are sensitive, but eventually they adjust, and it just seems to make everything better.

Sunlight stimulates natural serotonin production in your brain, so you don't need to mess up your SERTS with 5htp when you got a sunrise everyday.

Yeah sounds good, I've def been trying to get more foods or at least healthy drinks in my diet, stuff with anti-oxydents anyways. Would love to go out in the sun, if this damn weather would break ha.

Anyways kinda random, has any else experienced vision problems after use? Seems like my sight now is just slightly fuzzier or not as sharp as before, Serotonin have anything to do with vision??
