Best Way to Learn Gloving?

Ughh, I'm so frustrated with trying to learn how to do light shows. I've been trying and practicing and learning all the techniques from the tutorials on Emazinglights, but I just can't get it to flow.

I find it almost impossible to get a sense for how the lights should move in unison with the music. I have no rhythm, and I'm a terrible dancer, so I just don't have a natural sense of how to do it.

I've been trying really hard in preparation of my first rave, but I can't get it. I know the techniques, but I can't find a way to put them together to match music. My friend tried my lights the other day, and she was WAY better than me and has never even done it before.

Is there something I'm missing here?

I don't think I'll ever get it. =(

It doesn't come over night dude.. It took me months just to get my foot work right

Stop thinking about it and just go with it.. that could be your problem too

^ That.

It took me weeks and weeks of practicing before I could form anything solid. Before I started gloving I freehanded with glowsticks, so I had a general idea of sticking to a rhythm and changing up moves/techs but it is still a different form.

Try practicing in a full length mirror, it will give you a better view of what it would look like to the person getting the light show.

Watching other people is good too. Ask for tips and shit.

Maybe you should learn some rhythm first; get a little better at dancing. Try gettin better at feeling the beat and being able to move with it. I'm sure that would help wonders.
Also gloving can be compared to any hobby or passion.. No one is a master of skateboarding, or say drawing at first. Practice practice practice. If you want it enough, don't give up ;)
Would prob be alot easier to learn with a friend or from someone in person.

i just started gloving too and i know how you feel haha.

i get my ipod and practice in front of the mirror, or when im not home i just do little hand movements, its become like a habit to move my hands whenever i hear music haha. fucking master at finger rolls=D

best of luck to ya bro

Practice practice practice practice.
There's no other way.
Gloving is pure in the sense that you can't cheat at it. You're either good or you're not.

Thanks (: I dont normally glove to dubstep, but since Zeds Dead is gonna be at 420 Fest (my next event) I just had to haha. Now that I found my camera Ill be recording pretty often
