You don't really need the cardboard tip IMO to get a good roach with no leftovers... I just leave a little space at the hitting end of a paper and give a slight cone shape to the joint... VOILA!
Remember, the shape you put the weed in the paper determines the end product! I see so many people just pour the weed into the joint and try to roll it back and forth to get into the right shape... Just use your finger to smooth it all out before rolling... Feel the weed through the paper to make sure the shape is what you want before actually twisting and sealing! The "rolling" part should just be a wrap around the weed cylinder you have created.

^ Well you can also roll only the bottom part, like the mouth piece part. Get that stuck to itself and then tap it on the table so all the weed goes to the bottom and creates an even nicer cone effect. You can then lick the whole thing shut and hold it from the top and shake it like a Polaroid picture til gravity does it's job with the contents.

That's a terrible comparison. Roaches are good weed, totally still worth smoking.
The black shit inside the chillum is just resin, not weed. Totally different.

Well, first, i no longer smoke weed, but when i did, i always rolled it alone. But I am a cigarette smoker, and the few times i rolled it with tobacco, because it was too wet or i didnt have enough for a whole joint, i always thought it tasted disgusting as fuck.
I'm American and I have heard of using the filters but it ain't popular here in massachussettes, we don't call them reaches either like stated before that's the end of a joint/blunt that still has the last of the resiny weed. Almost everyone I kno throws them away at the end of a smoke session unless its rlly fat or a broke kid is smoking with us will snag it up Haha but when I smoke there wnt be a reach left smoke till my finger tips are burning .

Smokeing pure Joints in my eyes is wastefull and well doesnt smoke as clean as with a little tobacco in it.
If I wanna smoke pure, the pipe/bong is the primary choice.

i also live in MA. for the most part, it's the same in my circle. personally tho i love using filters but not many other people practice it. we usually bowl our roaches when we're low on bud, but other than that we save them for future joints.
also, i hate spliffs and only one person i know enjoys them; must be a euro thing.

I guess euro's just are used to your tobacco/weed combo as us americans are used to our straight weed joints. I personally don't think it's a waste to roll straight weed. In fact, if your bud is cured properly and you use a good grinder to grind it to the perfect consistency (don't over grind) then you can definitely roll joints that burn nice and slow. Maybe I smoke too much but I don't find it a waste at all.
The one thing I can definitely agree on is the use of a filter (crutch). It def helps you get that last bit without burning your fingers. I don't use it all the time, but when I remember it def is a good idea.

I have never tried rolling a joint without a roach tip - seems like a stupid idea, it's never fun when you hit cardboard - BUT if you're looking at what you're doing, then it almost never happens.
Mmm resiny goodness - they're a lil hot, but you just need to treat them real carefully
Pretty disgusting, BUT nowhere near as bad - it's still actually weed, it's just like smoking old bushweed - tastes a bit worse, is a bit more stoney, but fuck me does it still get you hammered.
I would never do it though myself.
I'm an Englander and I've rolled pure spliffs for the past 4 years.
I try and roll "jungle mixes" (ganja + hashish) as much as possible, always use a roach tip, sometimes backroll to not smoke so much paper - but if I don't have any hashish, I usually just roll it standard, without ripping off the extra paper or backrolling - it helps it burn just that lil bit slower.
I also pick my ganja apart so it's all different sized bits so it burns slower - it will generally go out if you have been talking for a bit, which is quite good, as it doesn't waste weed.
I also often smoke 1/3 -1/2 a joint, stub it out then keep it for later.
God I love smoking.
I recently just started blazing more often again, and it feels fucking sweet.

I learned by rolling tobbacco.
My joints look like cigarettes when i roll them by hand.
Never really smoke them, glass pipes are smoother and more efficient.
Good to keep a paper in the back of your cell phone where the battery sits in case there is nothing else.

I roll up a little piece of a tab from my cigarette pack, put it in, and the J rips. It's that simple...yet they would never put one in on their own?

OCB Roll and a very very small filter only as thik as a pencil tip, then role a really long and really thin cone. tastes fuciking amazing, and you have a decent time smoking even when you have little weed but want to smoke a long cone :D

In North Jersey everyone i knew from white suburban areas smoked out of pipes/bowls and everyone i knew from anywhere remotely near a ghetto area smoked almost entirely blunts.
When i first started smoking weed i would roll joints with a rolled up paper/cardboard filter, but eventually i stopped smoking joints for like 2 years. Now i smoke them occasionally and just roll it up mostly flat, slight cone action towards the mouth end.
Here in San Francisco everyone has their own preference. I've met people who smoke their weed every which way but bowls seem to be predominant.
Lately myself I've been ripping tubes to make my bud last longer, use a pipe when i buy hash.

If you're gonna smoke bowls...why not smoke a bong or vape? I love smoking things rolled up and usually smoke a joint or blunt every day (when it's nice out) and vape as well. Bowls seem silly to me.
