Nootropics (piracetam etc) - mega merged

Supplements for the brain.

I was just seeing what people take for brain function. Things that help improve memory, focus, brain fog and etc.

I have seen other people post about it, but I have never looked into it yet. Do you use it, if so is good and not additive?

^^haha its not addictive.

i just use fish oils. i feel like the majority of other stuff on the market isnt worth the price.

What I have been taking is a B complex, multi vitamin, St John Wort or 5 HTP and Omega 3-6-9. These work good with me, but I haven't noticed any improvement with the cognitive functions. As for the Piracetam should I get it in pill form or powder or what is the most effective way to use it?

^^powder is cheaper i believe.

dont take 5htp for extended periods of time btw, it causes 5HT receptor downregulation.

First make sure you're eating an optimal diet. No junk food, no processed food. Fresh, whole foods. Lots of raw. Lots of variety.

Sorry if I'm preaching to the choir, but you are what you eat, and you're certainly going to be better off eating a naturally nutritious diet w/o drugs, than eating fried foods and butter and whatnot, and "canceling out" the brain fog with piracetam.

So I'm going to get some Piracetam in powder form and try it to see how it helps with the brain fog. Also the diet plans an important part which I will be honest hasn't been the best. I also notice when I exercise I feel better and also if I kept myself busy.

^ Keeping yourself busy is key to helping eliminate brain fog. As is exercise and eating a healthy diet. Those three factors really helped me when I was "in recovery." A little Adderall/Dexedrine didn't hurt at times, heh, but I'm not about to suggest either of those, on account of the whole "harm reduction" and those putting holes in your brain. :P

Keep us updated on how you're doing, forums1969. Hopefully the Piracetam is what you're looking for. :)

This sounds like a great plan - I do personally believe that a good diet and keeping yourself busy/fit is the best way to combat brain fog etc. I dont know if it will increase your memory but if you cut back on your drug/drink then you should notice a great improvement.

Exercise is the best remedy for when your feeling down - it simply makes you feel good about yourself!

Fish oils or flax seed oil if vegetarian. Good diet, and my personal favorite sup is a 2000 IU Vitamin D.

Having gone through law school and the bar exam, and being a BL member, I've tried a lot of brain supplements over the years. The most powerful / noticeable was aniracetam + alpha GPC, which I used as a booster at the end of a long study session.

But the sharpest I ever felt, by far, throughout that period was during the summer that I rode my bike to school, work, and home every day. I still use the briefs I wrote that summer as writing samples years later.

Now I take fish oil and B12, eat at least one salad a day, and try to get a good 30+ minute aerobic session 3 times a week.

Is piracetam safe to use with ADD meds such as Focalin? I have been having horrible brain fog and sluggish brain function the last few months. Hopefully after my new move to my dads I will be on a better diet, and with the better weather be able to get out of doors more often. My dog is pretty lazy too, and no that is not an analogy for me using drugs (like that llama junk) my dog is actually lazy :)

This is a topic pretty close to home for me, and was wondering if anyone has experience with Ginkgo Biloba? Or anyone know what the most bang for the buck supplement would be (ignoring exercise and healthy eating) Thanks!

piracetam, vinpocetine, huperzine A, fish oil, B6/B12, 8 hours sleep, and minimal booze. The dreams are lucid landscapes and have be to dreamt to be believed. Aniracetam is an occasional racetam/pyro substitute with markedly increased potency/decreased duration of halflife. Vinpocetine can act like a cross between Acetyl Cysteine and Vitamin E (also useful). Don't be fooled; the results with nootropics are subtle but absolutely, amazingly real. Gingko, from what I understand, is an excellent repair tool in its own right, but seems to be less effective the younger/healthier the brain is...

The only thing that makes me wonder if this will work is I am been suffering from depersonalization or derealization or both. This is what causes the brain fog for me it was after a bad reaction to a drug. Has anyone heard of naloxone or has tried it?

fish oil

but mainly reading lots, doing sudoku and lots of cardio has helped me extremely.
