Best Benzo for a comedown

^ Long duration isn't necessarily a bad thing. When you are dealing with long comedowns that leave you feeling shitty the next day, a long acting benzo is idea.

It all depends on what you're looking for. Clonazepam is an high potency benzo with powerful anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, and moderate sedative effects. So alprazolam kicks in a bit quicker, so what?

There are benzo's that have an even quicker onset of action than alprazolam - benzo's like temazepam, triazolam, or diazepam. There are many others, but most are not commercially available in the United States (many hypnotics like nitrazepam, flunitrazepam, midazolam, brotizolam, nimetazepam, lormetazepam, and loprazolam).

I'm speaking from experience. Klonopin is more of a upper benzo, it's more prone to give people paradoxial effects. It also takes awhile to kick in and then longer to peak.

If your looking for immediate relief, then alprazolam works alot better for some reason. Probably because once it kicks in it works immeditely, and it's effects are just way better suited for a come down. Especially sense alprazolam has a "feel good" effect of it's own. I've had it save me on terrible come downs.

Klonopin on the other hand doesn't work half as good. Trust me I used to take up to 8mg's comming down from some shit. It's probably becuase it tends to cause paradoxial effects, and IMO just doesn't feel as strong sometimes unless your completely wacked out.

If ever there was a subjective question with opinion based answers...;)

I'd say it depends on the drug you are coming off of, how quickly you need relief, and the desired duration of the relief.

IMO, Alprazolam. It's potent, has a rapid onset, and is short-acting so you can even take it late and not be [too] groggy in the morning. But really any Benzodiazepine will ease the symptoms of a comedown effectively. Clonazepam, Diazepam and the longer-acting drugs will take a little longer to kick in, but will last much longer than Xanax. Great if you plan on sleeping in.%)

I would use flunitrazepam(rophynol),especially for a long comedown. But ok,all the benzo works,if i couldn't have rophynol(hard to take it nowadays),i would like to take lorazepam or diazepam. For loulou reed,i tried tranxene,it's sure the worst benzo i had.It lasts for a century and it doesn't have the nice feeling of the other benzo's.Oh,i forget my fav benzo, triazolam(halcium),the best for me.I haven't try midazolam and temazepam, but i'm sure both they're great..

I find alprazolam kicks in about 30-40 mins after ingestion, or at least that's when I begin feel the effects of the drug. Clonazepam seems to kick in about 45-60 mins after ingestion, so there is a difference but not that big of a difference.

Also, I've never felt no "feel good" effect from alprazolam and I have been prescribed alprazolam every month for the past 4 years. Alprazolam is just an average anxiolytic benzodiazepine like most other anxiolytic benzos, with no kind of "special" or "feel good" effect to it that sets it apart from any other benzo.

^ I usually feel xanax really quick, like within 20 minutes of taking it.

I tried midazolam for the first time a couple days ago. It wasn't a lot of fun or euphoric but it made me extremely tired and comfortable, which might be perfect for coming down. The only problem is the low oral bioavailability of ~30%.

This order, for effectiveness:
Xanax- SPEED KILL. It just shuts everything down.
Temazepam- Haha its like I'm DRUNK TOO.
Klonopin- Relaxed comedown.

I prefer Temazepam for everything, its like alcohol except more fun, and snortable.

Is snorting temazepam worthwhile? Any idea on the BA of insufflated vs. oral?

Absolute shit. Unless you have a particular fondness for celebrating Christmas up yer nose, ALL benzos should be taken sublingually or orally. Oral bioavailability is in the high 90% region, nasal bioavailability is... Well, fuck all, except whatever drips down from your throat where it gets absorbed in your stomach - ie. the same place it would have been absorbed in the first place by eating it.

Depends on the sort of comedown. If it's something stimlant-like, one of the more sedating ones like nitrazepam or temazepam. If it's more of a sketched, paranoia type, alprazolam or clonazepam. Though they're mostly interchangeable, the difference between most benzos is minimal for me.

Really? O.o

Maybe I had small doses of Klonopins when I had them then...or the meth was just keeping me from getting raped by them cause when I took Klonopins they just leveled me out whereas xanax kicks my ass even in low doses. lol

Well, as we can see, this is very subjective and has been discussed at length before (this thread is over 6 months old) so I'm going to close it. Whatever works best for you is good! :)

If anyone has any queries feel free to shoot me a pm.
