What do you do for a living?

i disagree with the "humble" part, i made it in an industry that is extremely difficult to make it in and really had to show true talent so people who say i have to humble down can choke on a dick.
LOL! this guy is mad

we need proof showing the band he plays in or he is lying

So I was wondering,
What exactly does everyone here that uses for fun or ligit needs their meds for a medical condition (no wise ass remarks like "my condtions is I use cuz I enjoy it" i mean ligit illness ok?
(notify which you are when you respond please)
What do you do for income? Do you have a family? Married?
Are they aware of your drug use?

Ill start:
Im a freelance writer, mostly ghost writer for magazines, books, blogs (not every blog is really written by that famous person, now you know!)
Do my co-workers/clients know know? Nope, how many people look at you like an addict EVEN when you are FUCKING dying and this med gets you to get up and work and keep your food down. Man I hate hypocrites-and Imhate to saynthis but most od the super "goody good" tyoes are nothing but trampy losers and usualky I have learnd are the religion church pushers (no not everyone, my apologies for insulting any church goers on here. I have just personally had bad experiences with a lot of church goers.)
Why do I use meds? I am terminally ill and only 24, some life huh? Got a killer career at 21 to lose it sooner than the time most get to where I am in their careers.
Family? Yep.
Aware of my use-well yeah duh I'm sick.

Ok your turns.....

Wow, sorry to hear about your illness. I also enjoy writing but can't seem to make a career out of it, I'm way too ADD.

I work in the evil pharma industry, but they pay me well. I am single and support myself. My use stems mainly from pain issues, although I tend to self medicate because anti-depressants suck. My family and friends are aware that I take meds but not of the "self medication" part.

I'm a Systems Engineer (1 year left to graduate)
I'm a freelancer programmer and a Junior Accountant.

I take Pregabalin for GAD, and for benzo withdrawals. Also Carisoprodol from time to time.

Good question. I doubt it. I think everyone is on at least 1 substance

Why would anyone spend their time here if they weren't a drug user? What could a non drug person possible get out of it?

Maybe a former user.......but I just can't imagine a totally straight person being on here without having their head explode.

Some of the shit on here amazes me......and I am a damn junkie.

As for the little squabble above.........The first person to toot their own horn is almost always full of shit. If he isn't, then he has to expect that people would think he is anyway unless he backed up the outrageous claims of wealth with some kind of substance.

Personally I don't care either way.......It's usually better to let bullshitters have their moment of feeling good as it is pointless to call them out. On the flip side it is also pointless to break in on a pompous ass bragging about his wealth/success........

If I had unlimited funds I would be somewhere else working on medicating myself to death and not on here talking to other junkies like me.........I am trying to quit because there was no way I could ever afford to keep myself in enough good opiates to not feel like shit half the time......

Obviously that wouldn't be the case if I had a shit ton of money.........I could just keep myself supremely fucked until I eventually took too much to wake up.

i am, ironically, a pharmacist. i won't mention the company, but i work for one of the "big three" retail pharmacy chains. a lot of "hands on" experience from my early college years certainly helped me on some exams...ha.

i'm a pharmacy tech....and sometimes i'll hear the pharmacists talking about drugs that can be recreational, or drugs that i have knowledge in and some of the things they say are wrong or not fully correct...not their fault, i only know due to experience and lots of readings on drug forums. i like my job except the fact i get random UAs...does you company do that too?

pharmacy techs have to get UA's? That's insane! A bit paranoid are they.

I'm a relatively new pharmacist, I worked as a tech/intern for five years and I've been a pharmacist going on two years now. Only once have I been subject to a random UA, it was because there was theft going on in my pharmacy and they suspected it was one of the workers (luckily this was during one of my "down" periods, so I came out clear). And yeah, there is a big difference between learning about recreational drugs in a class and actually having experience taking them. You develop a much better understanding of exactly how potent and abusable a drug is by taking it. It's like taking a class about riding a bike...you can rattle off everything you know and seem somewhat legit, but you'll really never have as good of an understanding unless you get on the bike and ride it. Not that I'm saying every pharmacist should go on a bender as part of their "research" haha.

And it actually pisses me off sometimes how some pharmacists can go on power trips and be unreasonable about early refills for things like benzos and opiates. I mean, you need to draw a line somewhere and you can't just fill everything for everyone, but some pharmacists tend to look at everything in only black and white...they don't have any understanding that although the prescription may say, "take 1 tablet twice daily", some people will have bad days and need to take three or four tablets a day. Obviously, every situation is different and as long as a person isn't going through a month's worth of medication in nine days, I'd rather see a person get their medication a few days early than have to suffer meaninglessly for five days because a pharmacist is trying to prevent "abuse". My rule of thumb is if the insurance covers it, I'll let a person get their medications five, maybe six (depending on their history) days early.

haha great points there. i needa find a new pharmacy so i can start having some fun again lol..i have to stick to my rx'd adderall and i did everything i could to get just a few benzos a month, just so i could fail for them if i got a random UA, and i'll occasionally smoke spice....on a rare occasion i'll do it, but only on a friday in hopes it'll get out by monday or close after. i don't think having an adderall rx will get give me a free pass on mdma and other amphetamines that i could get on the street
