I know there is a 'mega-thread' for subs vs dones, but I feel like my question is more specific than simply which one is better, and I'd like to get feedback on this specifically.
I remember reading in the mega-thread that someone mentioned that subs, while keeping them from getting sick and prevented them from getting high even if they tried, just left them still thinking about/craving dope, whereas methadone also kept them from getting sick/high, it also satisfied their urge to get high (probably because it does get you high itself?) and generally worked better for them.
Well, the reason I'm starting this thread is because I feel the same way, that subs kept me from getting sick/high but just left me wanting to use. On Tuesday I'm going to the clinic for my first time, and I'm trying to decide if I want to go on subs or done. I have been on subs before through a program (it wasn't a clinic) where you went once a week, had a group therapy session and received a weekly script for them. I made it for a month until I was kicked out for failing a (one) drug test. While I didn't get high, that empty feeling, that urge to get high was too great and I ended up doing some oxy to satisfy it.
Do most of you feel the same way, that subs just leave you wanting to get high? If so, does methadone work better in satisfying that urge? Or am I going to be left wanting to get high either way? I know that its a lot harder to get off than other opiates, but I have literally 18 hours left in school to get my degree, and drugs are really fucking that up right now. I feel like if I go on suboxone, I'm just going to be thinking about drugs while I'm trying to focus on school and it's not going to help, but if I go with methadone, I'll get that buzz in the morning that I'm looking for and be able to go on with the rest of my day.
Am I crazy??
