Opioids Pain Doctors

How come pain doctors do not seem to realize how much pain we are in. I took the advice of several bluelighters and changed doctors. this one has much better office etiquite but does not seem to care about the amount of pain i am in. I told him everything i was on from up to 200mg of morphine a day to 60 roxies a day. and i had worked my way down to 40 mg of opana a day. and i told him that dialaudid took care of it all perfectly and that i was able to function on it without the use of opana or long acting opiates. but no he gives me a few perc 7.5/325 which is less than what my primary care physician gave me and 14mg of ms contin which i specificlally told him i did not want to be on a long active opiate. I need to find a good doctor like i had. I mean i was taking the dilaudid orally killing the BA of it and it was sufficient but ofcourse i would dabble on the darkside with it too, but i do not want to be on these long active opiates for fear of detoxing from them. any ideas on what i should do? my options are kind of limited by my hmo insurance so i have to get referreals to everyone specialist i see but this is ridiculous. the amount he gave me is not going to allow me to function.

As I've told people before - there's no reason for chronic pain patients to ever worry about bioavailability numbers. Either you're worried about finding relief (in which case BA doesn't matter) or you're trying to maximize your high. Discussion of BA and RoA, etc. have no place in pain management.

Imagine you're a pain doctor and someone walks in a says they have pain all the time but they don't want to long-acting pain medication. They only want instant release dilaudid pills... what the fuck would you think?

Pain doctors are routinely lied to and used as dealers. You have to establish trust with them and show them that your ONLY focus is treating the pain. Clearly yours is not. Don't get mad at the doctor because you don't get high enough on what he prescribes you.
