"Drugged: High on Ecstasy"

10 years from mdma being prescribed? Let the countdown begin! I gotta befriend someone with PTSD. ;-)

That's about the only good thing to come outta the show. They tried to pin a guy's death on ecstasy caused hyperthermia. Sorry, but how is it that a guy can get hyperthermia from ecstasy from taking a couple pills at someone's house and I don't get it from taking handfulls of pills in unventilated clubs dancing for hours on end over and over and over?

Obviously, we're not being given the whole story on the kid's death.

I know this guy and his family. That is the exact reason he died. Well that and the fact that the kids with him didn't bother to call for help. It wasn't his first time doing it, but it was his last. It just depends on what is in your pill and how your body reacts to it.

^ or maybe shes just a moron and took way too much for her first time..

i would suspect the hospital she went to would have tested for the active chemicals in her system. if it wasnt mdma they would probably know..

she admitted to using it before, so she shoud've known at least somethin about it, and they had no intention of mentioning any type of cutting agents or substitutes, so for all we know, she dosed up on a bunch of junk and almost died and now its all over tv giving mdma a bad name, not saying she didnt just take a lit of mdma, if she did she is just not very smart, cause once u pop some legit stuff, you know it, all i was saying. and she didnt look too educated on the subject, nobody on the show, even heavy users didnt mention any type of the junk thats in pills once. we should make our own documentary.

I liked it.

I liked the fact that the deaths they discussed were a result of irresponsibility,

and I liked that they displayed equal amounts of pros for the drug.

I think they did a good job at showing us both sides of what can happen when E is used responsibly and irresponsibly.

yeah, at least they dint have a stubborn negative approach to it, at least they were fair about it. maybe some people acutally learned something from that program

sorry to hear that, that is a horrible tragedy and my thoughts and prayers go out to u and the family....i'm just curious if maybe u could provide some more detail, for example how much he took and if he took other drugs as well, or were the pills cut with any other substance than mdma? the gf mentioned that they were doing it 4-5 times a week so im curious as to how much he took only bc i highly doubt someone doing it that often would take a small dose

thx man, it says it's not available in my area though :(, sad day...

sorry about that LDV. i assumed that you would be able to view the uk's bbcs programmes from all over the globe.

ive just checked nat geo online and it appears they dont provide a service to view porgrammes anytime you would like. :(

my own personal views on the episode are pretty much the same as this, although in the case of leah betts its been said that she only took one pill, and the other girl apprently only took half. i guess its something well just have to believe, only theyll ever no the truth....

He took 7 pills and from the toxicology report, it was pure MDMA. He smoked pot sometimes as well, but nothing else. This happened in a friends basement in the middle of winter. In fact, his death was exactly 10 days after his 16th birthday 01/19/08. You can find alot of information on Tony on the internet and how hard this has been on all his friends and family. Just search for Tony "toaster" Trujillo. You can also see one of many videos made for him on youtube..Here is the link for the one my son and I made for him..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2rrTkBgUjk

it sounds to me like they slightly changed some of the programme for the nat geo channels, compared to what we have viewd here in the uk. there appears to be clearly different examples of accidental deaths that have happened

no wonder im confused...

damn, very sad story...do u know if they were drinking as well? and did they say how much mdma was in those pills? 7 is a lot to be taking and i got the impression that he did it all at once? but regardless its a shame that someone so young had to lose their life in that way...although i dont think kids that age should be doing it in the first place, teaching them awareness is key bc no matter what kids are gonna do what they want at the end of the day

"So I must admit I am a bit disappointed with tonights showing. I feel so many important factores were left out. Cody's speech, his friends sharing stories about his character, the importance of calling for help for a friend. The fact my son was a respectable kid with morals and good grades. That is who he is!

From his mother

Very sorry to hear about this, but I'm still puzzled by the way he died. It sounded like he took all the pills at once, which would make most people puke it out long before it ever got absorbed. For me, when my tolerance was at such a high, I'd take as many as I could until I knew if I took anymore, I'd just puke it right out...basically a waste. I'm not saying he didn't die from hyperthermia, but it really puzzles me cause I've pushed the limit HARD so many times and never had any problems whatsoever. I guess everybody's different. Still, this is IMO a freak occurance...horrible nonetheless.

"im 15 years old 100 pounds and my pill didnt hit so i took 10 then snorted crushed pills with some cholos, then i od'd and woke up in the hospital, im physically addicted to this drug--- i dont know what im talking about but this tv station is letting me talk" ROFL

"i took mdma everyday for months now my body and brain are fucked up omggg mdma is so bad" - or r u bad fof being a complete and udder ectacy feind???
well this turned into a joke.

you felt the show was a joke because it included information on the destructive aspects of mdma? thats like saying a documentary on heroin is a joke because it talked about people overdosing lol..

theres a difference between mentioning dangers and talking about idiots being idiots

youd consider heroin addicts who overdose just idiots being idiots? i dont think anyone intends to harm them self when taking drugs.. and even if the dangers are out of ignorance, it doesnt make them any less real.

i dunno. as an mdma user i didnt feel the show was biased or that the dangers were exaggerated.. i felt the show included all aspects of the drug. maybe thats just me though lol.

theres a difference between a junkie OD'ing because they're used to a certain strength or whatever of dope, and some idiot kid who's never rolled before pounding down 10 pills and or drinking obscene amounts of water.
