just so everyone knows, alasdairm wants to make a BL bet with me. if the Steelers win the AFC, then he has to sport a Steelers avatar for a month or so. if the Pats win the AFC then I have to sport a Pats avatar for a month or so. if none of our respective teams make it past the AFC (not likely imo)

I'm a little nervous because I don't like betting like this and I couldn't even imagine sorting a Pats avatar. I would be puking every time I logged on BL

whaddya say, BL - should I do it??

that would be awesome; I fully endorse the Seahawks making it to the NFC Championship (they would no doubt lose to the winner of the Packers/Falcons, though). Seattle could beat Chicago if "Bad" Jay Cutler shows up in the stead of "Good" Jay Cutler, and he implodes all over the place

dude, lets be honest the falcons have lost only twice at home in the last 2 years dude, and that was to the Saints both times the super bowl champ, i think its fair to conclude that the NFC is not in question, Atlanta has beaten Chicago, Green Bay and Seattle all on the road they def wont lose at home, now the AFC may send New England but Baltimore or Pittsburgh could get in, but thats just my opinion

A month ago, I couldnt see the Packers beating the Falcons, but the playoffs are all about momentum, and A-Rod is playing as well now as any player in the NFL.

Will be a great game.

The Jets and Hawks will probably get streamrolled, and Flacco really stuggled at home to pitt on the SNF game earlier this year, so I cant see the Ravens winning .

My predictions for the Championship games....

Green Bay @ Chicago
Pitt@New England

these would lead to a boring fucking superbowl :(

I think a Packers V New England superbowl would be great.

2 QB's at the top of thier game duelling it out.

Sure beats the hell outta Jay Cutler V Joe Flacco in a fumblefest :|

I swear if Chicago made the superbowl, I would be tempted to go Golfing instead.

My picks

Atlanta over Greenbay
Chicago over Seattle
New England over NY Jets
Pittsburgh over Baltimore

which usually doesn't happen. sure, the Ravens can absolutely ass-rape the venerable New England Patriots (I was actually in Boston last year to see that shocker of a game); but they can't usually beat the Steelers, yeah...

i just had a vision come to me, Atlanta Falcons vs NY Jets SB, wtf

Ok This post is for the morons that think People from Cali dont know football....

Flacco has a lot of fans, I am not one of them, he has a great arm , very suited to the out patterns, but if you fluster him his passing is woeful down the middle at times.

Interesting stat.. first 5 games against Pitt , Flacco had no td and SIX picks down the middle.
Stop his run game by using agressive DE's and you can win half the battle.
If someone like Troy can rush off the edge and unsettle him, he can really lose his confidence IMO.
Pitt should use lots of S and CB blitzes early and often against the Ravens.Knock him about a bit, let him hear footsteps.
He doesnt have the quick release( One of the slowest in NFL terms), nor do Balt WR have the playbook to go man on man in the secondary very early on in a play. They are not built for that.

Another interesting stat...

"Over the last three seasons, Roethlisberger has posted a 121.0 passer rating against the Ravens when they bring five pass rushers or more. That’s the third-highest rating against the Ravens in that time frame"

I cant see Flacco winning the game by himself, if Pitt avoid the turnovers, they will win IMO.

NEW CITY, N.Y. -- Former NFL star Lawrence Taylor pleaded guilty Thursday to sexual misconduct and patronizing a prostitute, misdemeanor charges that carry no jail time but require him to register as a sex offender.
The 51-year-old ex-linebacker, who led the New York Giants to Super Bowl titles in 1987 and 1991, will serve six years probation.
"She told me she was 19," Taylor said in court as he admitted having sex with a prostitute who turned out to be a 16-year-old Bronx runaway.

lol.

But yeah anyone want to do an avatar bet Im game.

I personally see ravens beating the steelers and the pats beating the jets as well as the packers beating the falcons.

Rodgers> Matt Ryan.

I'll take that bet :)

One week starting the hour after the ATL/GB game.

I agree with atlien3's picks. I really don't see the Jet's doing it and I hope to god that the Bears bounce the sad ass Seahawks out. The other two games should be tight though and maybe GB could do it but, I see the Steelers just edging out the Ravens.
