How does a person afford an addiction?

Living for free at ones parents or similar yet keeping a steady part-time or full time job I imagine would cover the cost decently,

I would hope a parent wouldn't let their dope fiend child live under their roof if their whole life consisted of going to work and doing dope.

By finding any reason to tell yourself that it's really not that big of a deal and that you'll do it tonight then take a few days off. Just figure like oh I would have spent that money on eating out or going to the movies or a video game that I would only play for for a week anyway.

Middleman is also a decent way to score a little extra for yourself as well. I don't think I would ever personally go rob and commit crimes to support my opiate habit. Well besides dealing which I got arrested for anyway. I did Oxy because I got it for cheap and now do Heroin since I can't afford Oxy anymore. That's how I afford my habit, by switching to cheaper Opiates.

I mean shit the last 3 days I sniffed 3 grams of dope and used money I definitely should not have. My reason was because my dad has the ability to make me wanna put a bullet in my head when he feels like getting under my skin. I was thinking about getting it before he got on me but honestly did not want to because that money should not have been spent but i told myself that was good enough.

I dunno most people can't afford drug habits basically and that''s where most of the problems from drugs come from. I mean I'm sure on average between legal drug addicts such as Alcohol vs illegal Opiate drug addicts, legal drug addicts commit much less crimes because even the heaviest drinkers more than $100 a day in Alcohol is probably enough for most, while someone with an equivalent Opiate addiction could spend 2-300 pretty easy. Shit and then you have all the people who only get Oxy and pay double what the H users pay.

I mean there's a lot of scumbag people to begin with who will go and rob old ladies and steal peoples rims and shit so they can spend 200 to get their Oxy high for the day. Drugs are not going anywhere and they never will. Legalize all drugs and we won't have any more fucking drug cartels killing each other day for the billions of dollars of substances we all love to injest. Have centers or something setup where people go to score with a staff of doctors knowledgeable on all the drugs and whatever harm reduction materials available. But then I guess that would stop them from being able to sell seized peoples cars at auto auctions from the forfeiture law. Lucky I got mine back though.

I don't know what i wrote all this to a board of a bunch of link minded people lol but fuck man this world is just sad. I just can't stand the ignorance and the sheer fucking stupidity of a lost of the human race. I mean honestly how come only a small percent of people even know about the movie movie "Reefer Madness" How can anyone honestly watch that video today and think nothing of it? To have our government make a video filled with so much propaganda and outrageous claims is sickening. I really would love to see Jon Stewart or Penn and Teller do a show about Reefer Madness.

Like that's some North Korean propaganda shit and yet it seems like your average citizen never heard of it. It's only when you find yourself involved with the government that you even realize how you are only as free as they let you be.

oh lord, i certainly know how that feels. i hope things get better for ya

^what?

i don't struggle to pay for my drugs so that means i'm no addict? that's an obtuse way of looking at it.

edit - that's not to say i'm currently addicted to anything at the moment either. if anything i probably smoke a little bit more weed than i'd like to. it's a much smaller strain and less detrimental to my life than poking holes in my arms using my(much needed) pain killers, gobbling down a bottle of valium in 2 or 3 days with a decent amount of muscle relaxants thrown in on top of a bottle of whiskey or vodka as well.

To be honest, It's a quote I heard off a friend. At the time it sort of made sense....in an odd Tony Montana sorta way. lol

codeine is one of the cheapest drugs around here, cheaper than weed but it does take willpower to not run your tolerance toward stronger opiates.

enough $$$

I can afford it because i dont get high every single day with just one thing, i only buy the expensive shit when i have extra money. Other than that, i have a job, so i mean keep yourself and drug consumption under control and you should be able to keep your job to pay for shit.

its the devil yo and then when he has ya he makes it hard to afford but then when you can its easy and yeah

Haha, I used to think like that, I just said this out of humor now. Though, there's defeinitly still an evil vibe with these things.

by any means necessary. i've pawned my past lives (hobbies, interests, etc) to pay for this new one. i've sold my few job skills and as a result ended up owing favors to people i never wanted to know in the first place.

its a fatally flawed lifestyle for most.

I reckon some must supply the stuff they use to others to get thier high/or they commit crimes
Personally i have methadone n valium script in the UK that works fine i'm even reducing on valium n meth i'm tryin to get clean by tapering, i've always just done raw cold turkeys ...some work some failed, but this is the first time i'm actually takin advice frome my drug worker to c if she can help me get clean, so far i've given 4 clean piss tests over 8 weeks and i feel a lot more stable of mind and mood.
I've done the 12 step thing b4 n i was abstinent for 11 months. but i wasn't ready n i done the exact thing they said not to do , i got into a relationship.Then i relapsed
