1 bagel with cream cheese
1 can of chicken, peppered
1 bowl of plain yogurt on top of apple slices
1 trail mix granola bar
2 glasses of water

lunch #2:

turkey and swiss on whole wheat
an apple
and water

I've been eating 1000+ kcal over maintenance as part of my clean bulk. Just started it up but so far so good. I am quickly approaching PR levels of strength and hopefully within 6 weeks I'll be at a whole new level. It's exhilarating !

Breakfast.

Scrambled eggs on toast from my chooks in the yard with bbq sauce and topped with asparagus wrapped in prosciutto :)

And my chooks in the rain.

Isn't it delicious?! Did you have the red or yellow kind? The red has a much more pronounced flavor and more of a crunch than the yellow.

I last ate mashed potatoes, and drank some tea.

It was the yellow kind. My parents have had a bag of it sitting in our pantry since, I don't know how long ago. I finally got up the courage to try it and I am so glad I did. 1/2 cup uncooked turned into a whole plateful, and after the first bite I decided it was delicious enough to eat plain. Are there any nutritional differences between the two varieties or is it mostly taste? There was a little bit of a crunch in what I ate, I just assumed this was small amounts that hadn't been thoroughly cooked all the way through. I plan on having it multiple times a week from now on. Such a wonderful food :)

PI, your dinners sound so tasty, you must be a crock pot wizard.

I am trying to be.
This winter is serious.
I like to cook but not every night.
We will eat the same thing with variations for 3-4 days.

My husband made quinoa tonight to use as a base layer for the curry.

I LOVE quinoa plain! I don't think there are any nutritional differences between the two. Annnd not to worry you, but: I have gotten some quinoa (red and yellow) that was a bit too crunchy... So the one time I spit it out, and it was a quinoa-sized pebble. Since that incident, I've started sorting quinoa like beans, and I have found three pebbles (again, quite small, but stones nevertheless) on separate occasions. It was "fair-trade" brands though, so maybe Boliva has different packaging standards than US-grown quinoa? *Shrug* /ramble

Belated Happy Holidays and a happy new year to my lovely Health Living regulars.
My last meal was...hmmm....a hodgepodge of stuff that might sound disgusting at first but trust me, it was deeelicious [leftovers from new years eve dinner!] I had seafood pasta puttanesca [homemade pomodoro sauce, spanish sardines, and olives! yum!] ...crispy bacon, and a fresh avocado. Some pics that try to show what I'm tryin to say ;)

Seafood, olives, pork and avocado in the same sitting?!? Your smile in that last picture makes me so envious! :)

I had quinoa again yesterday... and today. I'd put on my guilty face but it just wouldn't work here. And you know ap, for all the help and direction you give to people in this forum, one would be surprised you don't have a modstick.

I was in a funk thirty minutes ago, all overcome by bullshit emotions. Then I had some crackers and hummus, a grapefruit, a bowl of cottage cheese, some fish oil caps, and now a large mug of chamomile tea. I feel much better. Food <3

I'm glad the food made you feel better, but that sucks quinoa just isn't working for you! It's SO delicious! Did you make sure to rinse it very well prior to cooking? If you don't rinse it, there's a natural, bitter pesticide on it (to stop birds from eatin' it).

And, heh, thanks for noticing. I try my hardest to help people here because of the help I've received. This forum, among a couple other things, changed my life for the better.

Getting back on topic, I last had oatmeal with raisins and sunbutter, and a banana. No more coffee. :(

Nonono, the quinoa has been fantastic. What I meant was that normally I would be guilty for relying on a certain food so much. ;) I had too much chamomile tea last night... just woke up out of three dreams in a row, feels like Leo has been raping my brainwaves. Need breakfast...

This is probably my favorite thread on bluelight

A smoothie made with fresh ground sprouted flaxseed, a whole avocado, organic raspberries and an apple. Was creamy fatty calorie rich yum. :) Now I'm going to have three lightly cooked eggs and some coffee. Nomnomnom.

^Deja, that smoothie sounds delicious!

SirTop, ahhh okay. Misunderstanding on my part, too, I think--Text doesn't convey inflection very well unfortunately. Glad you've been enjoying it. I'm taking a break from it--Found too many stones in it the last two times I cooked it. I even sorted through it like dry beans last time and still found a stone in my bowl. Grr.

I last had some tea:
