5-MeO-DMT to be made illegal, January 19th.

SUMMARY: With the issuance of this final rule, the Deputy Administrator
of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) places the substance 5-
methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (5-MeO-DMT), including its salts,
isomers and salts of isomers whenever the existence of such salts,
isomers, and salts of isomers is possible, into schedule I of the
Controlled Substances Act (CSA). This action by the DEA Deputy
Administrator is based on a scheduling recommendation from the
Assistant Secretary for Health of the Department of Health and Human
Services (DHHS) and a DEA review indicating that 5-MeO-DMT meets the
criteria for placement in schedule I of the CSA. This final rule will
impose the criminal sanctions and regulatory controls of schedule I
substances under the CSA on the manufacture, distribution, dispensing,
importation, exportation, and possession of 5-MeO-DMT.

DATES: Effective Date: January 19, 2011.

This last time I got DMT, my friend said the person knew someone who was trying to extract 5-MeO-DMT from the toad. I laughed, but I think he was serious. I live in NE USA, those tropical toads are no where!

No. dmt and 5-meo-dmt are 2 totally different trips.

5-meo-dmt isn't dmt. They're in the same chemical family, but there are a lot of dimethyltryptamines.

I think alcohol is probably way more dangerous than most substances, and yet... still legal...

A recent study said exactly that. More harmful than heroin, crack, or meth in terms of it's societal and individual impact. But hey, there's big money to be had 8)

Can you link the study? That seems pretty dubious... the only way I can imagine that claim being legitimate is simply for the fact that alcohol consumption is far more widespread than meth, heroin, or crack use.

edit: Just to be clear I do think that alcohol is more harmful in both short term and long term than the majority of illicit substances... I'm just not so keen on branding it as more dangerous than heroin or crack.

You are correct though, widespread use of alcohol did push it up in the rankings.

Oh wow, I had no idea if it was legal or not, but that sucks! My friend wants me to try some 5-MeO-DMT but I am not familiar with psychadelics at all. Reading from Erowid, it seems to be an intense, short duration high. My friend slams it with H and speed. He is big on that mix without the 5-MeO-DMT but is that the route I'd want to go? I'm very familiar with injection and H and speed, but I don't want to wreck my speed high or get too tripped out. I'll continue reading about it, but if someone here has a better idea of how to take it, please let me know! I don't think everything needs to be shot...

flee this "friend" IMO. to try and get someone who never tried any psychedelic to even smoke such a super potent all enveloping instant "oh shit I am dead" substance like 5-meo-dmt, not to mention combining it with those things, not to mention injecting it with those other things, is dangerous in the extreme as well as cruel and stupid. I think he is just experimenting on you for kicks. or actually wants to kill you. run far far away from this menace.

dose to smoke for blinding death trip is like 5mg. I cant imagine what dose is to inject... 1mg? does he even have a $300 super precise 4 decimal 0.0001 accurate digital scale?
