So who likes benzos? El Benzo Threado Spectacularrrr 2nd Edition

^ My experience has been the complete opposite of this. As alprazolam is an authority script and diazepam is not, I would wager my experience is more typical. I wouldn't say many doctors have ever "thrown" any benzo at me, but most doctors certainly seem to consider diazepam a less serious drug than some of the other benzo's out there.

Yea i pretty much waked into the bosses office covered and smelling like spew, i told him the story and he said go home.

Sad thing is though, Its kind of put me off benzos :(

Probably a good thing theyre addictive..

Some people do get knocked out by clonazepam but I thought you may have been pretty tolerant to benzos, sorry

^ An authority script is a prescription that someone needs to meet certain conditions to be eligible for, and the prescription gets approved by the Government. For some medicines it is neccessary to make a phone call while others the doctor just has to enter a code. I don't really know the ins and outs of the process, but it would seem if they just had to enter a code it wouldn't take particularly long to write you out a script.

http://www.dassa.sa.gov.au/webdata/resources/files/Benzo_Conversion_Chart.pdf this is a useful resource for seeing which benzodiazepines and non benzodiazepines are available in Australia, it also indicates the quantities they are available in and whether they are an authority script. According to that Xanax is an authority script while diazepam is not.

@GurnEr_JoshE - Yeah, 4mg is a high dose for someone with low/no tolerance. I'd start with 2mg max for a first time, even 1mg, its effects can creep up on you and they'll then last a while.

15mg valium floored me my first (or 2nd? can't remember) time using benzos FWIW. 1mg clonazepam feels equipotent to 10mg diazepam ime but people tend to differ.

Yeh its the half life probs..

Doc's seem to throw xanax at ya but if you imply valium they freak!

LOL

I've found the complete opposite IME. Unless you're doctor shopping. From what I've seen most doctors are far more willing to repeatedly prescribe Valium to the same patient for extended periods. Whereas Xanax is usually short-term and a doctor wouldn't want you on it daily for too long. So I imagine it'd be quite rare to find a doctor who writes repeat xanax scripts to the same patient for extended periods of time (months, years...)

I been scripted with alprazolams not long ago and it is an Authority script. They need to call up with a code and then they can dispense ur stuff. Gonna give oxys/fentalyn a shot too soon heheh (aaah this pain is getting unbearable) tehehe

Not sure if this has been posted, but figured some might find it useful:

Honestly I don't remember, it's been sitting in 'My Pictures' for a while, but the Government of South Australia logo up the top looks pretty official and all the numbers sound right.

I thought it said 18-60 hours half-life on wiki?... and half-life doesn't = length of noticeable effects. They can be quite different with benzos.

Don't refer to 2mg clonazepam tabs as tic tacs... that's stupid and will give inexperienced people the wrong impression.

FFS benzos aren't cool, they're vile shitty drugs that have taken so much from me... I dunno I just feel like this thread makes light of the reality of it all with some posts.

edit: Thanks for posting that chart btw Crankinit.

I can't agree that 5mg diazepam = 1mg alprazolam... That's quite a contrast to the more commonly quoted 10mg diazepam = 0.5mg alprazolam! I think the true equivalence is in the middle somewhere, but 5mg = 1mg is ridiculous. That would mean that a 2mg Xanax bar and a 10mg Valium are the same strength...

Also, some of those half-life figures seem to be incorrect... Alprazolam is 4-6 hours, IIRC (maybe 4-8 )...not 14!

10mg of valium = 1mg (maybe 0.5mg) of xanax in my mind and friom other charts i've seen, otherwise it's pretty accurate:)

go back to OD you;)

i'm sorry if i offended you by calling clonaz as tic tacs, when they were sold to me, i was told the slang for it is tic tacs. And when u sublingually have it. it disolves into slight sweetness + minty taste in the end. and the size of it does look similar to a tic tac. ANd due to the addictiveness of it. u do eat em like Tic Tac. I think for the reasons above, it should be ok to say the slang for clonazapam is Tic Tac!

dont get addicted man

wouldnt be good

been havin benzos regularlay for a few weeks now and i get that begining sorta angry over stupid shit stage so i stopped 2 days ago.. had some more yesy and then this morning so thats not good

but yeh..fuck..gotta stop slowwwwwww down! Last thing i want is a benzo wd haha

i've slowwed right down bro. i've only had 2 massive binges off em. and now i'm only taking like half of one as required. and i'm not gonna buy anymore. have like 3left. using em for come downs only now. :)

i see how addictive this is, hence i told the dude i'm not buying anymore :)

i don't understand why ppl love benzo's so much... It kinda pisses me off, like when I go to the pharmacy (which is very far away) to get a refill of my Klonopin... sometimes I go like a day too early and have to come back the next day ... I guess cause its a drug "junkies" are associated with.

For me.. . I take 1 2mg usually with dinner... Many times I forget. I tend to have a lot left over. . . Its really a great drug, but it will just put you to sleep if you take a lot... Just as most benzo's will. But it is the best benzo ;)

I think for the reasons above, it should be ok to say the slang for clonazapam is Tic Tac!

It's just not a good term because of how easily you build a tolerance and dependence. Popping them like Tic Tacs is just asking for trouble, so is calling them that.
