Hey, i know the OP is probably not reading this thread anymore but i thought i'd throw in a post anyways.

I guess if you really know the scene where you're going and have some thai friends that could point you in the right direction then in this sitation drugs in S.E Asia isnt as dangerous but you're still risking your life for a drug high man, like others have stated these nations have very VERY harsh possession consequences that very well could ruin your entire life for decades to come, perhaps for life.

If you plan to go there and just find some drugs well then honestly you're playing with fire as there's alot of undercover or corrupt type police officers that will try to trick you into buying drugs then just arrest you and have you in big shit. Also alot of people like to prey on obvious out of towners so to speak, and may not think twice about selling you drugs and then dobbing you into some cop for a reward.

Unless you have some very trust worthy thai friends man i wouldn't risk it, and even then i wouldn't risk it to be honest, but thats me personally. I wouldn't even travel to these countries because i know my desires would get the better of me and with all that methamphetamine and heroin i know i'd end up copping and running the risk of 40 years in some dirty thai prison.
 
Best place to have a twirl is in a love hotel after you've got a bargirl to come back for a root. If they have extra shard on them theyd probably like to make a profit.

That's what I got arrested/detained for. 5 valium and 1 of the all night cock hardening pills, which apparently isn't legal (or wasn't at the time, not viagra, some other one)

So I got the bullshit about not having a prescription even though i bought them from a pharmacist. And was told the cock hardening tablet isn't legal in Thailand. also bought from the pharmacy.

Anyway that cost me plenty, and based on that experiece and experience of friends I had thought for small amounts of illicit material there wouldnt' be a problem buying off cops. Others have disproved that, so while you should never possess or buy drugs thinking you can buy police off, if it's an option to 'pay the fine' and be escorted to an auto teller than I think it's still worth it.

In Phuket at least, the Public Health Office has encouraged pharmacies to make available valium, viagra and cialis to tourists even though you still need a prescription to legally possess them; leading to people thinking they are fine to have until they get caught by the Thai police.

I am not messing around with drugs here, far too risky. Instead I am drinking a lot more and using tramadol, soma, gabapentin, getting valium occasionally but definitely not taking it out anywhere and I keep it in a discrete place.

I love that you can smoke cigarettes anywhere here it's great. And everything is so cheap. And Thai people are very friendly for the most part, though I am sick of being hassled by bar girls where ever I go. :\

Theres a lot more tuktuk (however u spell those bike cabbies) working for drug squad now, they basically make you touch the bag of coke or meth when asking if you want to buy it. they get a bit more money out of that.

The bribes for weed in Thailand for a small amount usually are small amounts of money,like $50 USD,which is a bunch of cash there,but for heroin and speed it is higher by a lot I'm sure..When I was in Thailand ,thats been a numbe rof years ago,no cops ever bothered me and I went to an opium smoking house and got high as hell,but brought none out of there.If you are gonna have drugs in Thailand then it's best to only have weed in 5 grams or so,which for $50USD max a bribe will get you outta trouble,but you gotta be careful of other drugs possession there especially yaba and ice,and heroin...bribes will work for those drugs but i am sure its more than $50 USD like with a bit of weed,likely $100-1000+ bribe ,which will clean out all the cash you have..If you get Ice or heroin from a hotel worker,then use it in your room,and don't buy more than can be flushed down the toilet at one time...better to befreind a local weed smoker and you will be as safe as can be in Thailand ,which now is not that safe,but at least the local weed smoker you befriend will not snitch you out,normally,lol...it's a risky game there for hard drugs,even a weed smoker can find you heroin,Ice,Yaba pills,etc..but you gotta get them back to your hotel and hid the stuff ASAP and use what you are going to use,and keep the rest near the toliet just in case...

Yeah that's what i'm saying if you buy even valium or viagra or cialiis or whateer you can convice the pharmacist to sell you there you gotta hide it in yo hotel room i wouldnt carry it our around with me

thai MIMS anyone can access and for most drugs it will tell you what is OTC and what isn't, there are a few exceptions for example soma it wouldnt tell me what schedule it was but i found out its over the counter, use google chromes incognito option though becuase otherwise the thai MIMS starts asking for a login or try using different proxies if you are looking at a lot of substances for thailand

everyone don't just forget that there are recreational drugs otc there, iv gotten celecoxib otc, antibiotics, all sorts of useful medications there my dad gets prozac over the counter there if they are asking for an unreasonable price go around to different pharmacies until you get a decent one

i'll tell everyone my best advice is to have thai friends to take care of you... there is a dual price system in a lot of places overe here... i've gotten really nice tailored suits, really nice food and really cheap drinks because i know a few people here so make friends and you'll be ok but watch out because there are a lot of people here who just want your money...EG don't go to the PING PONG shows OK?

They sell small amounts of valium without prescription as well as the cock hardening pill, which from googling was a generic form of Cialis. And I don't see anything about Cialis being illegal or not passed by the Thai version of the TGA.... So I think I got stitched up.

Anyway I bought 10 valium & 1 Cialis just before getting on the bus to Chiang Mai from BK. I caught a 'first class' aircon tourist bus (as opposed to government bus/train which the locals use), and the lovely Chiang Mai police were there to greet and search all the overseas tourists on the Bus & asking for ID. If you have no ID (example you kept your passport locked in the safe in your BK hotel) you'll also be paying off Thai Policemen.
 
^ Check Thai MIMS for tadalafil; it's schedule S which means it's a Special Controlled Drug, access by the public only via prescription.

Soma is OK I guess... I wouldn't put it above benzos but with opioids it's great

A lot of smaller pharmacies won't know what it is so try at the bigger chains, for e.g. near Carrefour, in Jungceylon etc... it's OTC, say it's for back spasms.
