[VIC] Rainbow Serpent 2011 (21 Jan - 24 Jan)

I'm totally down with having your own space at events :)

I'm sure you're all going to have an awesome time and i'm not jealous in the slightest. Nope, nu uh, nada, whatevs.

:|=D

Thought you were going to go next year Samadhi?

2012, maybe - we have some pretty serious plans next year, and Rainbow, unfortunately, has slid right down the ladder of priorities in our lives :| It's really bummed us, but house/potential travel and other stuff has taken precedence.

I will be making the trip down to Rainbow in January! I'm finally going to be losing my Doofginity so please be gentle ;)

My signature rave wear is a high visibility bonds singlet (looks cool under UV lights!) boardies and skate shoes =D Come and say hi if you see me!!!

'Rainbow Serpent'

The Rainbow Serpent is one of the most awesomest gods in Gondwanaland Aboriginal cultural law. Just wondering if that has anything to do with this musical event?

In short yes it does. Rainbow serpent embraces the aboriginal culture and often the opening and closing ceremonies incorporates aboriginal dancing and performance. :) it's quite awesome.

What does Hari Om mean?

The opening and closing ceremonies are my favourite parts of this festival - i spend the entire time covered in goosebumps - the feeling generated by the group is amazing. Even writing this gave me the warm-fuzzies <3
