My pain is not minor. Gallbladder attacks (Not stones, but inflammatory closing of the duct is actually MORE painful than typical gallbladder attacks) and Pancreatitis are more painful than childbirth.....so just imagine giving birth to triplets 3 times a day, only Im a dude and the pain never gets better, and its in my mid gut rather than down there. Fracturing my shin didnt hurt nearly as bad as what I feel constantly. I would describe my pain as Agony, not minor discomfort.
The problem is I LOOK just fine. Somebody with screws in their back has something to point to. I dont. Just my word and my specialists opinion.
At least my specialist knows that what I have can be painful. Everyone else is a skeptic, including my GPs.
If I didnt have a good specialist vouching for me I would be SOL....but will I get the increase I need?
Another option is switching to Methadone, which seemed to help the pain better than Morphine. I have heard its a bitch to get off of, and bad for my liver....another med I use also typically causes liver failure. I think docs are filled with pro-methadone propaganda though, mostly because its cheap and not because its better. They disregard claims that its harder to ween off of. I might get better pain relief though.
I would like to try Opana, Oxymorphone.....My GP does not know much about it though. He says I would need to get it from a pain specialist.
