Opioids Multiple Opiate Use - Effects on Eventual Withdrawal

I agree, kind of sounds like wishful thinking. True each reacts slightly differently in the brain, but each act upon the same place it matters, opiate receptors! Quit any of them in any combination and thats the only thing that will matter and result in some very darks days ahead.

Of course, the intensity and duration of WD is going to differ but count of the major shitty symptoms occurring regardless.

I understand the intent of your theory but In all honesty I think your kidding yourself...
Whats the common denominator? thier all addictive opiates. do you think that when the time comes for you to face the music your body is going to give a shit about what receptors are affected?

Your body will experience different withdrawals based on which receptors are effected. So yes, your body does give a shit about what receptors are effected. In fact, the receptors being effected= the cause of withdrawal. Your body doesn't do anything without your brain telling it to. In theory, if you could effect unique receptors every day and not overlap for periods of about 3 days then you could take opiates without withdrawal. But I think that'd be pretty much impossible, at least if you wanted to focus your time on the decent opiates.

Jeez you are still in withdrawal while you are taking 8mg of bup? How is that possible? Did you have a precipitated withdrawal or somehing?

Since when is 8mgs of bupe a large dose? I recall a time when I was dosing damn near, if not at, the ceiling dose of bupe. 8 really isn't a whole lot.

8mg of BUP if for people who want to get high on BUP, not for people who want to fight withdrawals with BUP. I know my habits not the worst, but 2-3mg of BUP the FIRST day and my withdrawals are all gone. After the 1st day, while the BUP stays in your system for 72 hours, I can survive on 1mg or less a day easily.

8mg should be enough to quell the withdrawals from some of the worst habits out there.

i need at least 500mg oxycodone IVed to get by. so 8mg bupe won't touch me. i'd need 16mg i think, but there's a ceiling dose, right?

this is not "that" high. oxycodone is about the same strength as morphine when injected intravenously. i know people who inject 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1600 and even 3200mg morphine PER DAY I.V.! i am not kidding. this is no joke. 3,2g of pure morphine-sulphate-pentahydrate. yes.

i also know someone who needs to take at least 400mg oxycodone intravenously to feel it. i take 80mg per shot. i take two shots when i'm shooting, then i wait about 6 hours, then again.

edit:
ontopic: yes, opiates have their receptors: µ, ∂, kappa,... these receptors are categorized into some more receptor-types. µ1,µ2 and even µ3 and so on...

i know what the OP means. when i'm on heroin/morphine, oxycodone barely substitutes the heroin/morphine. but when i'm on oxycodone, morphine/heroin works well to kill the withdrawal. it seems like morphine being a "wider" full-agonist than oxycodone, at least for me. oxycodone has the worst withdrawal though, speaking of myself. it was worse than morphine and heroin. pure hell.

^No dick sizing.

Switching opiates can maybe change things up short term. But long term, well you know what happens. And I believe the recomended dose for suboxone, is actually 16mg's. This is a standard dose with 32mg's being the ceiling. Although most people get by with 8, when I got down to taking 4mg's a day before I quit it actually still worked great.

Pretty much. I've gone from an extended period of opioid use to bupe a few time before and never had anything like this. It is still going on, I may talk to my doctor about going up to 12 but he wanted to pull me off.... I wonder if I'm better off tapering now while I'm WDing anyway or if I should wait until I'm stable first.

Oxy, from the sounds of it, it seems this has never happened bf. Therefore, your dosage of Bupe may be irrelevant. You may have put your self into a prolonged form of precipitated WD, just a guess... How about you start all over again; get of Sub, get back onto your precribed meds for a week or so, then stop again and wait until your sick enough to dose your Bupe and see how that goes.

I once put myself into PWD so badly, it lasted 4 days (it got better each day) and by day 6 i was totally fine again. However I didnt keep taking Sub, I took Fentanyl an hour after I got PWD as the experience was agonising and I didnt want to take anymore Sub as I was worried it would just prolong the PWD. Perhaps you are not waiting long enough btw dosing your DOC and Bupe.. receptors are sensitive creatures!

Good Luck

P.Opi

PW lasted 4 days?

thats brutal homie

anyone else have any experience with this?????????

Jeez how can anyone afford to get their habbit as high as 1600mg or 3200mg of morphine a day? you'd go throug a 90 prescription in 4-5 days, and it'd cost like more than a hundred thousand dollars a year to sustain. I just don't see how anyone lets it get that bad... only like 60mg fits in 1m so you'd need like 10-20shots per dose!? Sounds insane... DO you really know someone that has that high of a habit? You'd think they'd just being doing dope at that point

most people are just doing insanely high heroin habits.....

thats the THING

Call me an asshole, and I honestly mean no offense, but now may be the time to consider Bupe full time. Its a nice feeling to laugh at people paying ridiculous amounts of money for a pill just so they dont feel sick.

Those of us who have quit suboxone could look at all the people still on sub maintenance and think the same thing. Suboxone may be cheaper overall, but how is it any different?

But I would never laugh at someone for it.

jimmy, its ridiculous that bupe costs money?

im sorry but you could not be more wrong.....all meds cost money, and bupe happens to be newish (to the public) and an opiod....therefore its going to be a little more expensive...but thats what insurance is for...

also it makes an addicts like so much better....take it from me...im on bupe......

takes away the needle...takes away going to the block everyday...

pretty much it just helps get your life back on track......

Jaystyle- Waitta say the obvious thing man. Your gunna go far around here. lmao.

"only like 60mg fits in 1m so you'd need like 10-20shots per dose!? Sounds insane"

and unless you stuff boxes full of morphine powder for a living....

I don't understand your remark.. Are you trying to be sarcastic? Morphine is soluble 60mg/ml of water, so 3200mg of morphine is an insane amount of shots per day... even if you use a 3ml barrel. Anyway, not really sure what your post is all about... Mine had a legitimate point as far as I can see.

what you're doing is like switching seats in the Titanic

lol, ^this.

in some of the seats you will just have to deal with the sinking ship for a lot longer than some of the others. (Bupe passengers please proceed to the stern of the ship.) On the bright side, it might hurt a little less.
