questions about long term effects of X

but i remember before i started rolling i used to be a much "happier" person and more laid back. here is one thing i forgot to mention. since i stopped rolling i have substituted other stuff. mostly alcohol, on the weekends, and only 3 or so drinks to get a buzz. but i take loratabs when my wife gets them for her back. not like 5 at a time like 1 a day and not every day. its like i have an addiction to being buzzed no matter what it is.

this sounds awful but this thread justifies my really shitty attitude to mdma. i had been in treatment for major depression and related problems for 4 years before abusing md, so i know the md didn't cause the depression. since i was going to be depressed anyway, might as well cane it and have fun.

as for being laid back, that will come i'm sure of it, it goes hand in hand with feeling happier i think.

as for substituting other things, i doubt it makes a huge difference to your healing process. maybe as your brain starts to recover and you start to feel better you'll feel less of a need to use other drugs? though i must say personally feeling happy doesn't stop me from wanting to get wrecked all the time.

the gym advice is definitely gold, i hated becoming one of those cheesy gym goers but feel so much more confident and happy in myself for it.

I've taken mdma hundreds of times and the worst thing that happened to me was that it stopped working. The problems you describe are inherent to everyday life while sober. It's not necessarily the mdma's fault.

you know i didnt think about it in that way. because i started when i was 18 and fresh out of high school and had just moved out, so i was experiencing the adjustment of that plus mdma at the same time. now that i dont use hardly anymore, i am more clear minded, plus i am married with a one and a half year old so the pressure is greater. maybe its just that i dealt with the change over of living with no worries to having to provide for myself with a greater ease bc i was always rolling. interesting speculation

pnut, have you considered the possibility that you may have had a pre-disposition to depression or any other mental disorders (not being an ass) prior to popping the pills? I've read MDMA can intensify this if someone does in fact, have a pre-disposition to something.

I would try;

Start taking good multivitamins (stuff in grocery stores is usually crap -- find a specialty vitamin store or something)
Start taking DHA/Omega 3 Fish Oil, Ginko Biloba (Good for your brain & memory anyway)
Start taking 5HTP before you go to bed, some 5HTP supplements come with Valerian Root (a sleep aid)... check the back of the bottle for this.

Eat healthy if you are not, try to exercise often...?

Good luck man...

thats one main problem i have. i dont take any vitamins and eat pretty much what i want bc i have a high metabolism. i actually went to GMC the other day to find 5htp and thats some expensive stuff lol. i did buy some centrum that im gonna start taking.

I'll be honest man, the centrums aren't that great. Most of the grocery store OTC Vitamins are synthetic with a bunch of un-necessary stuff and they don't absorb as well.

I'd check out Vitamin World, I recently picked up some multi-vitamins from there that have a "Memory blend" including Ginko and some other stuff. I take one with food twice a day and I don't pee them out, I actually feel them work, which indicates to me that they are actually good vitamins. Then get some DHA (or any Omega3 Fish Oil w/ DHA), and their 5HTP has Valerian root.

When it comes to Vitamins the $ is worth it.

i dont have a vitamin world where i live i have never heard of it. does GNC have that multi vitamin you were talking about?

I've been doing e's on and off for twenty years and was very very heavy at the start.
I've never had any problems that I hear other users have had. The only downer I have is just down to the treadmill of life. The old saying you don't miss what you've never had applies here, and if any of you are like me, the MDMA exposure I've had has just made normal life seem just a little bit too grey for my liking rather than any brain damage I could of caused.
I admit my short term memory is a bit shot though for my age.

the smallest thing can set me off. i do find i have a hard time being happy, and my friends say i always look pissed off when really its just the norm for me now.

Yes I can relate to what I have highlighted in the quote, never have a smile on my face at all, people tell me to smile once in a while but I never do. People say I always have this look on my face like as if I want to kill somebody.
