Benzo Effect Category Ratings

If RCs count, like phenazepam which has a very long half-life and high potency from what I've read so might beat some of those benzos on the list.

i found phenazepam to be rather "crude" feeling, somewhat like a longer acting version of lorazepam.

I don't really like diazepam, it lasts literally 2.5-3 hours for me. Then I feel lingering drowsiness for another few hours.

^ i mostly agree, mostly diazepam's peak is around 2.5 hrs.(esp. with lower doses) to around 3.5 hrs. however i've had the peak last a little over 5 hrs. before, and it is a good "all around" benzo(i'd take diazepam over alprazolam any day).

plus the lingering effects of the metabolites keep me relaxed after major effects.

I agree. Diazepam's effects only last max 4 hours for me.

As I'm feeling pretty sketchy as fuck right now. Thought I was threw the worst of the opiate withdrawal. But my heart is racy as fuck right now. I have some Clonidine. So I took one 0.1mg tablet. Now I'm wondering if 6mg of Clonazepam if okay with this. Of course I have had 20mg of Valium with 0.1mg Clonidine in the past many times.

Also - should I chew the Clonazepam, or just swallow it? Or Sublingual? They are white 2mg Roche's.

Thanks

Take the Clonazepam sublingual. You should take 8mg if you want a good buzz unless you just took another benzo than you may only need 6mg. Don't worry about overdose. You basically can't overdose from benzos unless you've got a few bottles that are completely full left over feeling suicidal or some alcohol or other depressant.

i find the relief of stress i get from benzos very similar to euphoria, allthough i would not say they are sinonyms

yeah, mostly euphoria from benzos comes from stress relief. but if i mix some of my favorite benzos(namely temazepam + clonazepam :D), i can achieve more of a "true" euphoria and feelings of well being.

There is no "body high" from benzodiazepines basically but the relief of stress, especially for someone who really suffers it, will get a really nice sense of well-being. I wouldn't go as far as saying true "euphoria" like you get from amphetamines, MDMA and opiates. But definitely a sense of well-being and contempt. I don't like to use the word "high" when referring to benzodiazepines though, that's pushing it a bit because someone who doesn't suffer from anxiety will expect too much and that is what will kill their buzz. I like to use the word "buzz". Someone without anxiety probably feels loss of inhibition, relaxation and drowsiness I imagine.

imo benzos with strong muscle relaxant effects(clonazepam, flunitrazepam, diazepam) can give a "body high", just not like a good opiate, barb, or methaqualone.

"true" euphoria from benzos is possible(not like amphetamine or opiates), and usually results from mixing two or more strong benzos and can be compared to a mild opiate euphoria. remember benzos can affect the pleasure centers of the brain and indirectly increase dopamine in a similar way(but to a lesser extent) to opiates, this effect however varies among individuals.

i'm one of the people that gets more euphoriant effects from benzos and other GABAergic depressants, and can compare the euphoria of 60mg. temazepam + 4mg. clonazepam to 10mg. hydrocodone, but the benzos have the added bonus of feeling intoxicated with lower inhibitions and anxiety/stress.

as for calling the effects of benzos a "high", that is dose and benzo dependent. lower doses are more of a "buzz" while higher doses(esp. with potent benzos) lead to a stronger intoxication that can be called a "high".

I like Xanax aka alprazolam for just getting that drunk kinda feeling at higher doses, temazepam in my experience sucks as a recreational drug and as a sleeping pill ,for which it was prescribed to me..Roofies are ok to knock you out ..lol..but they are not legal in the US at all..lorazepam is a benzo that is good for sleep,I had it IV in the hospital and it felt great and euphoric IV combined with the Demerol pump I was on..lol..clonazepam is what I am currently prescribed and they are ok for calming nerves but suck for recreational use IMO..Valium is pretty good at 40 mg doses, especially mixed with 2 or 3 mg of alprazolam..most of the others I have not done or done enough to rate them, although I do not understand temazepam being a drug thats sought after for recreation, whatever though..Xanax is not overrated in my mind ,except maybe when compared to some other benzos I have not had...Xanax is more commonly found on the "street" in the US and Valium (diazepam is also), I never knew anyone who wanted any temazepam that had taken them before...lol..Must be something different about temazepam in other countries because I hate it...

I'm pretty sure flunitrazepam (roofies) are not illegal in the US, but could be wrong.
I think federally its a Schedule IV drug but some states have it listed specifically as a Schedule I

then again, I could be wrong here.

As far as temezepam goes, I've only taken int once so far, but have a current Rx for it, I liked the feeling compared to klonopin, definitely more euphoric (in the benzo sense)

flunitrazepam(Rohypnol or "roofies") is schedule 4 in the U.S., but is not available on the market. the DEA has proposed to make it schedule 1, but no changes have been made yet.

also, internationally flunitrazepam along with temazepam and nitrazepam are the only benzos listed under schedule 3, which was originaly reserved for potent fast acting barbiturates like secobarbital and phentobarbital.

all other benzos and some barbs(phenobarbital and butalbital) were listed under schedule 4.

Wow I would have to agree with almost your shake down of the Bezos. ...there are more variations of benzos out there then there are letter in the english language. Alprazolam, Bromazepam, clonazepam, diazepam....i know it is possible.
I think those of us who are prone to anxiety find 'europhia' in benzos because of their ability to shut off our noisy brains.
I was lucky and stupid enough to take a benzo tour across south asia and parts of africa where they are available otc or with a little incentive. They are cheap, always brand name, well almost, and they some of my favs. Temazepam, Mogadons and halcion. I personally am tapering my dose of clonazepam perhaps just in time.
I wasn't planing on using valium because I thought it had a 100+half life and 4 mg of clonaz is what 40 mg of valium. however, I have hit that 1 mg mark and I am starting to lose interest in the taper mainly because for those of use who do experience extreme anxiety find extreme relief when it magically disappears. Kd in AZ you would recommend a Valium taper for clonazepam?

correcting myself: temazepam, flunitrazepam, and nimetazepam(not nitrazepam) are schedule 3 internationaly.

really? they're OTC over there? looks like i'm going on a little vacation... ;)

^ Yup I was on them for 10 years. I just got off by long tapering with Valium. Clean 3 weeks.

Me too, ive been on lorazepam and clonazepam currently clonazepam for the last 12 years first as needed but the last 10 yrs everyday and was wondering how i was gonna get off them. First im tackling the methadone then i hope to tackle the clonazepam its good to hear that someone who was taking them as long as me has successfully got off, thats encouraging. U must tell me ur method with valium to get off these benzos.

anybody here tried nimetazepam? it is reputed to be a strong, euphoric hypnotic benzo similar in effect to temazepam. i heard its only available in southeast asia, and its one of the only benzos i have not tried.
