You get the choice between that, and something made out of match-heads, lye, and sulphuric acid. Both are equally vile. I think there are a couple other setups but none seem any less disgusting.

btw if you grow tadpoles in an environment that has no iodine, they live their entire lives as tadpoles and never become frogs. It's apparently possible to have a bunch of elderly tadpoles.

heh are you just making this up, or? I've never heard of match-heads or sulphuric acid being used as reagents.

Just curious. :)

I'm not even a chemist. But if you read up on meth synthesis, you'd see I wasn't too far off :).

Try that famous archive now housed in Erowid.
 
I wonder if all those 'crooks' in the old Super Man TV series got 'attempted murder' of an officer charged against them when they ran out of bullets and whipped their empty guns at the Man O Steel?

Match pad stikers ,not match heads contain the Red Phosphorus used in that reaction ,which includes Hydriotic acid,or that can be substituted for by using Iodine crystals instead,lye is not always used ,depends on the way it's done and sulfuric acid is used as is hydrocloric acid to make the meth solidify in the ether or the solvent of use by the maker,thats the way most Crystal meth is made using the above mentioned(with a lot left out) Red Phosph./Hydiotic acid/psudeoephedrine method prefered my mexcian meth makers,also is much more toxic potentionaly than the "birch reduction" method of psuedoephedrine,anhydrous ammonia ,and lithium or sodium metal,with ether or another sovent used ,plus other stuff I will not mention,this way of meth production is what the one pot method is derived from....

where are u guys getting this nonsense about the cop even being injured? All it said was he threw the bottle at the cops and being charged with attempt"... anyways I don't know much about meth but I know its pretty nasty stuff and I;ve seen how it can change people.
 
As I read it no one was injured. But a shake and bake is under pressure in a bottle not designed to contain it, it could very easily burst when thrown resulting in chemical burns and possibly a fire as well. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case here.

If I cared, I can easily look up the minute details on the net, it isn't exactly secret knowledge.

^^^ (or ^^ and ^^^^^^^^^ and ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^) I'm actually starting to doubt that anhydrous ammonia is used in the plastic bottle. I mean, I've never made meth but it seems impractical to handle something that cold when your setup is less than pro or you're on the move or whatever. There are other sources of ammonia, but they probably lower the yield.

P2P: that seems to be another story altogether.
