I know Mirtazapine isn't a very commonly abused substance, and I can't see it becoming one. It's a tetracyclic antidepressant, albeit with somewhat specific receptor activity, and with moderate sedative effect. I orally consumed one Apotex brand 15mg tablet, in order to get a specific idea of the effects it produced in myself.

This made me curious of it's intranasal properties, prompting a miniscule(2 or 3mg +binder/filler) test line, (after searching for pill ingredients, of course). The powder went down absolutely painlessly, though no additional effects came on of worthy note.

After this test run, which showed that it indeed could bring me closer to a drowsy-dreamish yet cognitive state, I attempted intranasal dosing of 7.5~mg one week later, with nearly identical effects. The main difference, and this is forseeable, is that sedation pronounced itself much stronger, and had a discernable anaxiolytic effect on my mood, which was already calm.

My actual question is: "Have any of you other BL'ers nasally ingested Mirtazapine?" If so, how were the effects? At what dose? Did you like your experience? So... in conclusion. Need help forming more opinions on this one.

Also, below is the link to the closest page I could find on inactiveingredients for this.

I wish i could get my hands on some mirtazpine. I was falsly sold them as oxy 15s awhile back when i first tried xanax and i popped two a 15 or a10 pills i forget what it said on them but it was making me not be able to move it was putting me to sleep everywhere i went everything was comfortable. Try popping 2 or 3 of your 15mg pills and tell me did you find the effects you were looking for? Hah, oh yea and mirtazepine, bud and xanax=black out. Just sayin.

I've got a bag full of mirtazipine just taking up space; can't imagine wanting to snort them.

sedation from mirtazipine is quasi-inversely related to dosage. ie. taking more of it will sedate you less.
7.5mg is a standard dose for sleep related issues (its what I was Rx'd though it didn't help)

i dont find any TCA/SSRI recreational.or even useful for depression/anxiety.to each his/her own though.if i was you id use it according to its label

The point for me was just to find out a little more info on an effective sleeping med, and since these little things are so very small, it just seemed like something that was worth asking at least once. I had looked around and found nearly no info anywhere on it. But it's true, beyond that, there isn't much of a point.

EDIT: also, it was worth finding out whether the effects would last for a shorter duration, as I would wake up feeling like more sleep through oral route. Like I said, I know they're not recreational, but as a comedown from amps or e perhaps? or maybe if someone has insomnia and can't get to the benzo jar. Just trying to input SOME info to a site that has helped me find very much of it.

Maybe I would try this for no reason as I have a full script of it I don't use and it puts me to sleep... However, I have a doctor's appointment in the morning for some minor nose surgery after getting my nose broken and I'd rather not look like a complete idiot telling him I blew mirtazapine. & yes my responce is about as useless as your thread.

I did this once. I was extremely pissed off and taking it orally seemed to put me to sleep 2hrs later--and I wanted to get to sleep very quickly. It didn't do much.
I take it every day as rxed and it is NOT abusable unless you're just desparate to feel 'different'

Everyone, I wasn't intending for some secret hidden recreational potential. I just was curious of the differences in effect (or lack thereof) between oral and intranasal use. That's all it boils down to.

.. please just close this, mod. I truly didn't think this was something to get flamed about.
