Hello Everyone, I have heard this from multiple sources mainly the higher up....Doctors and pharmacists mainly... Here is the story i heard that the new formula of Oxycontin from Perdue pharm. is causing lawsuits cause of bowel obstructions! This causing the company Perdue who decided to make the oxycontin pill (ar) abuse resistant.
:!
They didnt have a court order to have to make the new pill it was simply cause perdue associates lied about the c11 med not being addictive....They made a new med formula to help out there future of problems and this formula is making new issues and may be the reason they are scared shit less into pulling it off there shelves now....or soon as I here....Any good solid info. i get from this, about this i will share on this site. This all sounds very likely anyone who has any info. on this please share.... :!

Thanks

I met someone who was tried out to be part of the medical trials of this new Oxy. From what I gather unless they make it into a prodrug there is always a way of getting around issues of Time release, Did someone say vyvanse? even a prodrug was cracked by some health food store products and simplish chemistry. Or concerta that was a real tough one, I preferred the dex spansule because here in canada the largest and only dose of dexedrine is 5 mg and 9 pills is a lot of substance to plug. while 3 small caplets (pulverized) is just a pinch!

Chew on the new Oxy's and you'll still defeat the time release (to an extent). The only thing you can't do with the new formulation anymore from what I gather (and I could be wrong) is to shoot em as they retain a thick waxy residue.

The only thing I can find on various websites is people hoping that if enough people complain that the new version is not as effective as the old it will be pulled from the market.

There are some semi-organised online campaigns which are all about complaining to the FDA about side effects from the new formulation but I'd consider it more likely that the manufacturer would rework the new formulation than abandon it - the patent is too potentially valuable not to include/drop certain features of it as the need arises.

Agreed, and most are more likely drug abusers. I've heard nothing about arising side effects so the people complaining are those who can't snort or shoot them anymore. There would be no other reason for a person to complain.

Some people have been saying that the plastic in the new formula causes stomach problems because it doesnt digest, not sure if its true though.

Not really much we can do except speculate, especially since purdue hasnt released any information about changing anything.

I have seen some chronic pain users saying that their doses have needed adjusting upwards on the new formulation - this seems to be an issue with many XR pharmaceuticals, not just analgesics - and a couple of reports of stomach problems but nothing which suggests enough widespread issues to warrant pulling the drug from market.

The majority of posts I'm reading are along the lines of "Purdue is forcing people to take heroin". Ironically, if the demand drops sharply because people are shooting/snorting something else that will only confirm how much the old formulation was being abused...

the demand will drop sharply simply cause CPP cant take it legitimately...

my mother actually ended up in the damn hospital cause of so many adverse effects, they wouldnt even let her go for several days....it was sad, i couldnt do anything cause she was hours away with noone/family around to help...

this is going to be a problem for alot of people, how many posts have you found of people saying they take the medication and it works for them?

ive found "1" and it was by someone who posted under the name OxyOPlease...

they made their name OPlease making fun of the fact that the OP werent as good, they werent working for them, but then several days down the road they decided that the adverse effects werent as bad as they were making them out to be, but this was One single person ive found, out of thousands of people complaining against it, even if you considered 75% to be abusing it, thats still ALOT of legit complaints, and thats assuming out of every 4 patients taking oxy, 3 are abusing....again that just seems like to much when alot of patients i know dont even know they can be abused, some dont know that breaking them up is even an issue for the MFG (even tho if you kept them whole pieces it shouldnt be much more than a smaller controlled release dose)

I know every pharmacy that ive called, the responce is "Everyone is having problems with them, my suggestion is to get your doctor to switch you to Opana, Duragesic, Methadone, Morphine, ECt..."

If pharmacists and Doctors are saying this back to their patients, there is more than just addicts complaining....

sorry for the lengthy post, hope its not to "offtopic"

Nah, thats Bayer from what i read heh, just kiddin heh...

Freund and Speyer of the University of Frankfurt in Germany first synthesized oxycodone from thebaine in 1916,[9] a few years after the German pharmaceutical company Bayer had stopped the mass production of heroin due to hazardous use, harmful use, and dependence.

The bht causing cancer will make lots not take them also they make other meds not dissolve as good i was told they arent selling as many of them at all.. regardless of the reason abuse or not there is no way to prove it. I think that they will actually pull the mof fthe market cause we all know someone will either have a bowel obstruction like has been said or will make a issue up to bank on some of perdues large fortune....It has been said by a perdue complaint phone rep. that the higher ups are taken a mad amount of heat right now and if they dont figure it out they may g oback to the oc formula....I guess the phones are ringing off the hook.

And of course heroin was developed and marketed as a non-addictive alternative to morphine.

You've got to admit that Bayer and Pfizer showed good judgment in holding on to ancient patents for drugs which didn't pan out at the time they were first developed.
