Temazepam is shit. End of story for me. Even though some abusers of Temaze find it the best benzo out there, I have to disagree with them. I once took a whole fucking bottle and was still not sleepy, as a matter of fact, I can recollect that I was up later than usual after taking all 25 of them at around 11 a.m. in the morning.

This happened to me a few years ago, cept with kpins. Had been driving on 2 blown tyres and fucked almost every panel on my car, hit another car, ended up in a police station. Thinking back scares the absolute shit outta me. Very Lucky.

im hearing ya man, its all pretty funny to talk about but when you stand back and think about it. its not to unrealistic to think about waking up in a cell after getting in a major crash and killing someone in the process. anyways. dont drink like a motherfucker on temazzies haha

We all react differently to the same substances. I don't find temaz recreational at all. I even took 60mg recently to see if things had changed, but it still doesn't do it for me. I get no euphoria and just crash out for many hours.

Most benzo lovers do enjoy this benzo, but not us.

I really enjoy other benzo's so as Vb said, different strokes for different blokes

Yeah as others have said it comes down to individual taste. Personally I quite like temazepam, I'm normally don't find benzos recreational (except in small doses with alcohol or opiates), but temaz I found gave a bit of a buzz and didn't make me nearly as sleepy as other benzos do. Still not something I'd use to catch a buzz regularly, but more recreational than xanax or mogadon or valium.

Yeah i find it un-recreational, temazepam that is. It's one of the weaker benzos - and only seemed to work whilst i was intolerant to benzos.

If you want to get fucked on benzos, take alprazolam. Simple really.

However, with alpraz i find every time i get a script - i wind up in hospital for some kind of injury.

Its just a placebo really. It takes 3 hours to actually peak and turn into a very low dose of oxazepam. Anyone could safely down a whole bottle probably, but Im not condoning it. As they might get a 5 second placebo tingle 3 hours after!

^Yup. I'm on a long road getting off benzos (currently now just valium 15mg daily), and totally agree with Divine Moments' post. The reason I have ever taken benzos, especially diazepam is because it works. I remember my doc even saying to me once "well yeah that is obviously why it's come to this, cos you take them because they get rid of your anxiety.

^^Jakeperson. I was on Citalopram for way too long when I think about it now (about 8 months), and the exact same seems to happen to me with SSRIs. I had a few weeks where I felt a bit better, then back to total shit, then double dose, then back to shit, then switched to 100mg sertraline, and now up to 200mg sertraline. Am really hoping this is going to help, cos i'm still evening out on the 200mg, but after trying 3 different SSRIs before, I have my doubts about them being any help for me.

You should consult a proper doctor immediately as you cannot come off diazepam long term use using diazepam. You are looking at a 6 month withdrawl if its been 2 years or something. Ask if you can change over to clonazepam, because it is much easier to start breaking down the 2mg tablets until your just nibbling little bits off a tablet, and the wthdrawl from clonaz isnt nearly as long. Dont you find Valium acts more like a stimulant after abusing it?

Yet many people do find it recreational and/or helpful to sleep... I'm sorry it doesn't work for you but saying it's "rubbish for recreation and anxiety and sleep" and "just a placebo" is ignorant and plain wrong. Give your opinion, no need to make unreasonable generalisations. Plenty of people in this thread have already said how much they like it but no drug works for everyone.

Most people probably could down a whole bottle. Saying that as a point against it shows your misunderstanding of the incongruence between effective dose and toxic dose (e.g. LSD which is active at very low doses but has a high toxic dose and hence huge therapeutic index - you wouldn't imply that's weak just because you wouldn't overdose on 5 or probably even 50 times a standard recreational dose).

With regards to the peak dose comment, do you realise it's meant to be taken to help maintain sleep not to initiate sleep?

I know what its for but it says take one or two before bed, not hours before bed on common labels.

I guess I'm just annoyed that Doctors know its pretty useless for most people and won't give out anything else, but will put you straight on a brainrape anti depressant or neuroleptic without really telling you the dangers, just because you may of answered "yes" to "do you sometimes feel not happy more than once a week?" or "do you find you have some sort of anxiety before bed?"

i have to say my daily dose is 60 mgs in which i also take a few other scripts to help me sleep,Actually i just got up from a well needed nap in which i took 8 2 mg clonazepams and 6 60 mg temazepams and some nozinan ,no seroquel this time as i wanted to stay awake for awhile before finaly lying down and napping my nap was probably 3 hours i think.
But on there owne 60 mg would be alittle short even being a newbie to them i would say take at least 90 mgs...
I was taking 5 30s when i first started and felt fine nice and comfy while smokin pot...

90mg temazepam for someone with zero benzo tolerance would be excessive. I found between 10 & 30mg fine for getting to sleep. Unfortunately it has a very short half-life and tolerance starts creeping up after only a few days....

Yeah the weak effects of this pro-drug are over as the drug turns into a couple mg of oxazepam.
Note that Serepax comes in 30mg tablets....

IME, I find oxazepam to be around half to two thirds as strong as temazepam mg for mg. In higher doses temazepam feels stronger for me atleast. I don't particularly like either of the two. Oxazepam just feels like the day after a moderate-high dose of diazepam, very subtle and weak.

Yup, I did think about changing to kpins, but abused the shit out of every benzo for 6 years whilst always being addicted to diazepam, and after all this my doc/psychiatrist wanted me to just stay on diazepam and taper, so I wasn't at a high risk of getting addicted to kpins again. Yur exactly right though, I went through about 7-8 months of hell with withdrawals, but now having been stablised on 15mg diazepam for a few months, if I really had to I really think I could handle cold turkey now (eventhough i'm not, but have tried going almost 3 days without any benzos without really noticing the start of any bad withdrawal symptoms). And yep, I totally agree with the "stimulant" part. If I was to take 40mg or more of diazepam, I am more stimulated when it "peaks" and for about 2 hours later, but then I get more drowsy off it later on.

I know i posted on this thread already but i will say that long before i had a ongoing script and no real tollerance to temazepams,we used to take 5 30s and smoke pot and feel very uphoric.
Now that ive been on them forever i can take as much as i want and realy feel nuthing.
All it seems to do now is shut the lymbic system off and ya dont think or worry as much.
So ya its for sleep but also a very good antianxiety med.
But no more recreationable effects just more calmness .
I can stay awake on them but as soon as i lie down and relax ,next thing ya know im out cold for awhile at least ,in a very deep sleep which i love ,being a chronic insomniac,cept that when ya wake up its like ya never took them and a few hours pass without realy feeling like ya slept cause ya dont realy dream on them..
