Real raves (for clarification in the USA "rave" refers to giant commerical shitfests)

I'm really fed up with the local nightlife. I am tempted to drive 6 hours tonight just to have one night in Munich getting fucked. But what I'd really like is a real rave. I know no one on these forums knows any Swiss raves, but if any one knows any good English raves coming up could you shoot me a PM. I can always fly there with Ryanair. God knows one night in Munich would cost me 350€ to drive and stay. Who knows how much for the lederhosen, collectors beer stein, sausage and massive amounts of beer.

I would be happy to go to a massive. As long as it has that rave environment. Any one know of any good massive coming up? :p

Are you talking real raves as in illegal free parties or just an exceptional club night?
 
I don't want to go to a squat party where I have to be afraid of getting knifed, but a warehouse party or an exceptional disco would be good. A place where I could roll balls and feel like I'm in the right environment.

outdoor free parties ftw, problem is the location is only announced at 10pm or later on the actual night so not exactly easy to plan in advance

UKTEK being a obvious exception or even FRENCHTEK both almost guaranteed to be an amazing party.
 
I find the local French freeparties, or teufs boring. Bunch of goofy teens and homeless dreads dancing to bad electro reggae. I'd rather hit up a rave. Never been to a squat party but I hear it is mostly sponsored by dealers and things get pretty rough. Just a place for hard drugs and violence.
 
Haven't been to a good dance music party with decks in a house in ages. I wonder have they disappeared since the drought or is it just the new generation don't have them since they don't know the good pill scene.

Hahahaha. Read the tabloids much. It's quite the opposite for the most of the scene. London tends to be the exception but for the most part one of main reasons people love free parties is the atmosphere.

You in Geneva, aye? Last time i was there (18mths ago) there was defo places to score some chang and a few underground clubs.
 
Heading to L'usine tomorrow, but I don't live in the city so I don't know where the underground clubs are. We have a few freeparties on the French side but like I said, electro reggae crowd, and bad djs. There was this chick, look hard as fuck with nasty dirty short dread and a skeleton face rapping last time. She was rapping about Sarkozy. She was rapping like she was hard and then trew down the microphone and walked away. I could barely stop laughing. I am a libral and would love to see Sarkozy go, but I'm a realist and I realize that any cause people like that support they are actually doing harm to lol.
 
Get to Frenchtek! What side of france are you on? The UK rigs go over and they'll play good music I assure you. I always assumed there was just masses of hardtek played in France.

Def not genre savy, I have a thread about it lol. But the little corner of the mountains that call the Haute Savoie is unfortunately hardcore in to reggae. So the freeparties are a mix of electro and reggae.

I prefer a more mainstream crowd, but open minded about drugs and partying. Like underground college parties. Or L.A. raves, as long as it isn't too shady. I've been fucked up at shady parties before and it isn't that much fun watching your back while high.

It can be a good mix of types of people as long as it isn't a homeless forest party. Which pretty much describes that teufs around here. You get a few of the late teens that are clean cut and goofy as hell doing their spazz dance. Looks like a mosh pit almost. Couldn't go in to further details because I only went to one and my friend said it was pretty typical, about 10/1 ratio, guys to girls. A lot of people that looked pretty hard and homeless and a few younger guys that were really in to bad music.
 
You sound very judgemental. I bet you've never even spoke to these people their just outside of your circle thus scary and weird. Dreadlocks don't bite.

EDIT: ^^ Me being a total cock for a number of reasons. I too am being judgemental by saying that aaaaaand most of the kids with dreadlocks I've met have been middle class. I'm a cunt.

Lol, I am from the Seattle area myself. I had friends with dreads and green hair. Personally I thought dreads were always a bit nasty but whatever floats your boat. If you like that scene feel free, but it isn't what I'm looking for.

Looks kind of boring to be honest, and the music is better than here but not great. Reminds of of Rijhort near Amsterdam. Everyone facing the speakers with their heads down dancing...

Seen some rave videos from the UK and didn't look bad. I want to head back to L.A. for Nocturnal but that costs 20x what a ticket to London does.
