Newark's on track to breaking a homicide record this year since the 80's. The first half of the year there was like a 4 month period with 0 murders, now all of a sudden in 2 months there are 35. Cops say a lot of it have to do with drug turf and gang war, which is probably right. A lot of guys that got arrested in the 90's and early 00's are getting out of prison so it's getting a little hectic right now. PLUS Newark PD is about to lay off like 170 officers or some crazy shit starting in November due to budget cuts. I won't be surprised to see the next few years get crazy in Newark like they were in the 90's. There will probably be no shortage of drugs and probably a lot of competition over corners and spots for customers. Good news for NJ junkies. Just be careful out there don't want to get hit with a stray one.

^ And a lot more cops more concerned with arresting murderers than junkies buying dope.

So maybe they will set aside a few blocks for buying/selling drugs like in "the wire".

your stuff must be decent for you to type a sentence like that.

Hows the NJ dope quality been lately? I was wondering today if the changing of the OC preparation has turned more people onto dope on the East Coast, and if it has affected h quality one way or the other, in turn.

I would that hope that, in view of these budget cuts, the Newark PD will concentrate on pursuing property crimes and keeping the peace, and make shutting down drug spots the lowest priority. They might find that the incidence of violent crimes will go down.

Things get cleaned up a little more here and there every year in Newark. Any kind of progress is good in its situation.
