Nah, my adventures in probably got a kidney stone land have made things even worse. "Oh, about to go to bed are we? SEARING PAIN IN YOUR SIDE BITCH!"

Yes, I personified the stone. And yes, he's an ass.

My last 24 hours: around this time yesterday was the first bad case of the kidney pain, which kept me up till like noon.... Caught 4 hours or so of sleep, woke up hungry but the pain came back and killed my appetite. Acquired an arsenal of weapons to fight back from the drug store, managed to be pain-free for a while. Got a mild case of it around 2-3 hours ago, killed it with fire (and tylenol) but now I'm wired. I'm contemplating ambien to put me down but A) I don't really like using ambien more than once every couple weeks, and B) I'm worried about the prospect of the pain coming back while I'm still awake and all out of my head on it, or waking me up after just a few hours of sleep while still ambienated.

What are you going to do? I mean we were only discussing the other day about the price of health care, is it something that you can ride out or do you have to get medical attention for it?

It sound awful man, I've never felt more appreciative of our free health service, hope you get something sorted soon. I wouldn't wish something like that on my worse enemy (not that I have any that I'm aware of..).

I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse and dissolves or passes on its own. If it does get much worse, it'll prolly be time to see a doc. Usually if they're big enough to get stuck and require treatment, there are other symptoms I don't have so far: intense nausea, blood in the urine, etc.

Worst case, I'll go to the ER and my folks will have to foot the bill. It would be a nasty bill, for sure, but not bank-breakingly so - nasty enough that I'll tough it out if possible but not so nasty that I'll have to forgo treatment if I really need it.

For now, I'm drinking lots of water, popping tylenol pretty regularly, taking cranberry extract to ward off infection if it scratches up my urinary tract, and some weird OTC med my mom recommended that makes my piss bright pink and helps numb the pain. Since getting this collection of meds to ward it off, it hasn't come back nearly as bad as before, and I think I may have made it worse when it first happened because the first pain med I took was ibuprofen, which I then remembered is kinda hard on the kidneys

edit - yeah, NHS is a great system. I wish the Democrats had the balls to propose anything half as comprehensive here. Single payer is the way to go.

I wish you a speedy recovery solistus, talk about rock and a hard place. With lack of sleep as well I'd be crawling up the walls screaming blue murder by now.

Like you say do you risk being kept awake because of pain but out of your head or stay awake and endure all the fun effects of sleep deprivation. I do not envy you, all the best, sincerely. Please let me know how you get on.

Just to try and get your mind off it if you fancy theorising something:

If you had the oportuinity to step into a total perspective vortex knowing that after the glimpse you would probably be sent completely insane, would you do it for a glimpse of everything?

Yeah man, it really surprised me. The intense euphoria was short-lived but I really enjoyed it, hit me very hard. I think the 0 tolerance I have at the moment had something to do with it, as very few people get to try any of the JWHs with no tolerance to cannabinoids - so I say I'm pretty lucky. I also think it has something to do with the sheer amount that gets inhaled in such a small time, when it all hits you at once it makes for quite a rush.

I don't move around a lot on DXM. I just kinda lay in bed listening to music. If you have powder DXM, you need to milk some gelcaps for polyethelene glycol ( http://www.dextroverse.org/Archives/absorb.txt ). I did manage to walk downstairs on my dosage, but I had to really hold the handrail or I was gonna fall.

If you had the oportuinity to step into a total perspective vortex knowing that after the glimpse you would probably be sent completely insane, would you do it for a glimpse of everything?

Douglas Adams! Been there, done that, though, without the resulting insanity (welll, I'll let you guys be the judge of that ; ). Tryptamines > total perspective vortices.

I'd rather peer into the heart of the TARDIS and see the time vortex, myself. Then again, my most recent intense 4-aco experience had time vortex-like elements to it - all of time existing at once, every possibility... Didn't get to kill any Dalek emperors or resurrect any 51st century con men, though. s as well to the good Doctor.

The pat couple days have been kinda shitty between the sleep deprivation, kidney pain and lack of money and weed, but I'm cautiously optimistic right now that the kidney pain has peaked and is on the way down, and hopefully at least one of my overdue JWH order and overdue bank transfer will finally reach me by this afternoon so I can add CB1 agonists to my little medicinal arsenal one way or another. And ohhhh man will my first toke be nice... Kinda sad that "almost a week" feels like an eternity to be on a tolerance break =p

Thanks for the info Assphace, I'm not sure I'll have the higher dose then and as it happens I have some glycol, but at a lower dose I did (200mg) a while a go I was perfectly able to 'do things' in fact I went shopping when it came on, not recommended obviously but I quite enjoyed it, not that I want to go out on it just if something arises.

Is it possible to 'snap yourself out of it' in your experience?

I have absolutely no vodka or alcoholic beverage of any kind in my house, doh.

I suppose you have actually and now you have the ability to see into the future and peer into others minds what has changed, it's like the science thing, if a unified theory that explained everything in the universe came out tomorrow, what would change? I suspect I'd still have to work.

BTW, speaking of which, have y'all been following the Restoring Truthiness hilarity? Reddit started a campaign to get Colbert to do a rally mocking Glenn Beck's rally from a couple weeks ago, it caught on on facebook/twitter/etc. and now it's been a repeated back-and-forth between Colbert mentioning it on the show and fans doing more awesome shit. Glenn Beck made a big deal about some geese that flew over the rally as a sign from God, which Colbert of course mocked... He consulted his prophetic goose, Geese Witherspoon on the show, and then the Redditors sent him hundreds of beanie baby geese, dubbing him the Gander Commander.

I don't think any of the JWHs are illegal in the UK aside from JWH-018 and JWH-073 - it's the same here in Poland. I might be wrong though, it's a long time since I read up on the UK laws on RCs etc.

On a smaller dose (around yours, I think) I went and saw Inception. I was prolly cool to drive, but I didn't want to risk it, so my dad drove. That was fairly fun. I was completely able to function.

I haven't the foggiest if you can snap out of it, I've never tried to before. I would be surprised if you could, though.

I'm not really down on the whole Doctor Who thing, I do enjoy it when I have watched it but just wanted to ask the fans this:

What did you make of the Darleks returning, it really, really upset my friend who is the biggest fan I know, I mean every series and he hated the idea they could return like that.
